Hi guys I am a 35 year old living in a middle eastern country (a bit nervous to say which one at this point)

I am an experienced psychonaut with shrooms and more recently realised I can get to a similar (yet slightly less intense) state with THC through gummies or vape. I have started to become very interested in DMT and/or Aya . But access to it is proving very difficult.

I will be travelling to the UK in the summer. But if there are any other members that live in the middle east that want to connect and help me get the most out of my DMT experience that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Jazzy

Hi @JerseyJazzy99 , welcome to the Nexus!

Glad to hear that. You've come to the right place for DMT info. We can't talk about sourcing of either DMT or (dead) plants to extract it from, but we'll be happy to help learn to extract it and use it.

You can talk to other members in your area, but be sure to not share personal information (such as location), as that's not allowed: doing so can endanger you and the Nexus. For the same reason, please don't talk about sourcing.

There's a plant often used for Aya analogues that probably grows in your country: Peganum harmala. That's the MAOI used to make DMT orally active, and it has strong effects on its own. Here's a good thread with some experiences: Hello & a little account of my harmala journey so far

Welcome again, and enjoy your stay here :)

I'd recommend trying the harmala and shrooms combo. It's quite similar to ayahuasca and is often referred to as psilohuasca.
The underlying principle is the same, MAOI + trypyamine, and the DMT and psilocin molecules are pretty similar.

From my personal experiences, I don't think psilohuasca and ayahuasca are that similar. And technically, rue harmalas are not the same as caapi harmalas. I think THH is a big component, and DMT for that matter.

They are not, and the effect is very clearly different. That's why I said "Aya analogue". But I'd say rue harmalas are closer to caapi harmalas than to any other substance. They're not radically different.

How different it may be from psilohuasca I don't know, as I haven't tried it. I imagine quite different, but also probably closer than to almost anything else.

It depends on the shrooms you have had. Every species and variety is different. There are shrooms that are indistinguishable from DMT in a psilohuasca experience.
THH plays its own role, of course. So far, I’ve tried it with rue seed extract and I can compare only to my harmala + DMT "pharmahuasca" experiences.

Is this based on experience or is this something that has been researched?

Observed by experience, then later learning that thh is a mild SSRI. Which flies against the advice not to mix maoi with ssri, but I guess it’s mild enough. If maoi helps dmt get to the synapses, I imagine thh extends the molecule’s duration there, or somehow symbiotically enhances it.

Based on experience, adding pure THH to harmala extracts and taking that with DMT, at the very least.

There’s a lot of controversy around THH, and I haven’t seen evidence beyond anecdotal reports. On top of that, products sold online as “THH” have often been shown to be harmine, harmaline, or mixtures of those, which increases my skepticism.

Setting those issues aside: how do you know your material is actually THH? Did you use a testing service, or do you have access to mass spectrometry (or another analytical method) to verify it? If so, it would be valuable to run a blinded test, because at this point the claims seem to be repeated more than demonstrated.
