Newbie - first time extraction experience

Hi lovely people
Tried my first ever attempt at extraction. Any observations and advice is greatly appreciated.
Used Chris Cantelmo tek. Available on YouTube.
50g mhrb
250ml water
No Vinegar or acid used
15g sodium hydroxide
135ml zippo fluid
0.01g precision scale

Contents in pyrex jar that went into the slow cooker or freezer as required.

3 freeze thaw heat cycles. Ran the semi frozen mhrb in a blender to get an almost areated mix double in volume before last thaw heat cycle. 3 hours low heat in slowcooker after each thaw.
Might use a stick blender to avoid transferring mhrb h2o mix into blender and back to jar.

Used sensible precautions and ppe while handling caustic soda. Added 15g sodium hydroxide to the mix that turns the solution black in colour. Stir gently with glass stirrer.

Added non polar solvent, capped and swished mix around a few times allowing any gas pressure to vent out.

Left it to settle for a day.. swishing the mix every once in a while.

Used a glass pipette turkey baster to remove solvent into a smaller jam jar.
Kept in fridge for few hours then into the freezer overnight.
Next day white crystals had precipitated out.
Poured out solvent carefully back into the mhrb lye solution and left jar with crystals to air dry in a drawer.

Have 0.4g crystals that were transferred to a small vial and waiting for second pull.

The solvent has a slight yellow tint.. say 2 on a scale where 10 would be a blonde lager.

Currently storing the vial in the freezer.

Ps. I have not yet tried smoking this and my OCD compels me to read up more on the subject to have an enjoyable and safe experience.
Any suggestions and advice welcome.

Ah, an STB method with extra freeze/thaw cycles - very Nexian The pre-base neutral boil is an interesting variant, so it's good to find out at last what the Chris Cantelmo tek actually consists of without having to resort to searching "how extract DMT" on youtube!

0.8% is a pretty good start for a first pull in a first extraction. It sounds like you got your method dialled in pretty well already. Your product should be okay if your solvent (naphtha/zippo fluid) evaporates cleanly in an evap test. A slight yellow tinge to the pulls is quite normal - they can get considerably darker.

Another thing to watch out for is avoiding getting any of the base soup in with the naphtha. This would be visible as dark specks. It sounds as though you maybe pulled cleanly, especially if you weren't overly concerned about getting every last drop of naphtha back out of the soup. One particular way to gain extra peace of mind with this when doing the next pulls is to use an extra glass jug with a small layer of sodium carbonate solution [just a pinch or two of SC in sufficient distilled water to more than cover the bottom of the jug]. Squirt the pulls into this before transferring (minus the water) into the precipitation dish.

If you did happen to notice any dark flecks in your existing product there are ways of cleaning it up. But first, how's it look?

The pale yellow tinge of the NPS is only visible after the first extraction.
Will certainly try the Na2CO3 purification you suggested. Thanks

I have avoided sucking up every last bit of naphta, instead focussing on quality rather than quantity and so far the results have been great.
I am also planning to test other NPS like Bartoline @ B&Q as VM&P / Shellite are not easily available where I am. Will do the evap test first though to determine suitablity.

Excellent, that is considered best practice nowadays, since those naphtha remnants, and - especially - their contents, get picked up incrementally on subsequent pulls anyhow.

Loving those sparkly snow-globes you've made. That looks pure enough to convert into juice as well. (Not that that was necessarily your plan but, all the same…)

I have never smoked spice before so was learning about every way it can be consumed, after which I will make a choice… based on accessibility to kit, safety, convenience and understanding risks, so that I can embrace the universe with respect and responsibility.
Will keep you posted on how the second pull goes meanwhile referring to ‘good practice’ guides and advice on the forum for clarity

I'm sticking with low doses for now, had a few 5mg and one 10mg dose. You can always go back in for more after a first 5mg hit. I found this - How to Smoke DMT: 6 Methods Explained - Tripsitter a good overview of how to smoke/vape it and have been using the cold-start method in a glass pipe with a Jet lighter, heat gently until you see a little white wisp then a long slow inhale while still gently heating.

The tripsitter article is pretty good for a short piece, although it's a bit alarming that they mention MAOI and 5-MeO-DMT in the same paragraph, since this combination can be dangerous and even fatal. This particular risk is essentially absent when using only plain N,N-DMT with MAOI.

I have not really thought about oral administration mainly because I cannot yet get access to MAOI and would hold back until I fully understand the subject.
Also I am not ready mentally for a long trip and prefer to go slow as you have.
My dad once said to me, Son be sensible in your stupidity… . At 52 I certainly get what he meant

Second pull… left to air dry before I weight it… still nice clean white crystals.
Naptha back in the main jar with mhrb for 3rd extraction.

Wasnt happy with the second pull ~ 0.22gms.. was stickier than i liked.. not dry flakes like the first pull. So warmed up in a water bath and added the third pull solvent into it to dissolve. Then gave it a sodium carbonate wash as @Transform suggested thanks mate.
Third pull total yield was 0.335 so less 0.22 = 0.115

Now prepping for fourth pull
Yield so far from 50gm mhrb has been 0.735 gms of clean white spice.
Kept first virgin batch separate for my first ever experience
