I always used to enjoy this song when I heard it on the radio as a kid. It completely faded from my mind until a week or so ago when a friend put it on, and I've been listening to it every day since. I'm not sure what it is about it, but it makes me feel an incredibly happy nostalgia for the past.
hey all - here is my mix cloud channel : been dying since 1989 around the world, live and radio... there's a little bit of everything in between ambient, electro, jazz funk, disco, electronica, breakbeats, afrofunk, afrobeat and the like - groovy stuff.
Apparently Carbon Based Lifeforms has a short documentary about the making of Interloper. It's a pretty cool collection of footage if you're interested in music production or sound design. I consider this album (and World of Sleepers) a masterpiece of electronic music, so I was pretty excited to randomly stumble onto this and get to see some of the creative process behind it. I hope others enjoy it as much as I did.
They are masters in soundscaping, having a ton of talent in what they do. A tad melancholic by times but that's okay. Yet it all could weight in way more if they took more care of recording, the bass is strangled and most sounds are smeared together in mid range, can't play it loud without hurting my ears, tried both spotify and tidal in hifi quality to no avail. Darn they should remaster the ideas asap, it would do ultimate justice to their talent. Sorry for being a game spoiler but can't be else than honest.
As a comparison this recording, nice round bass and sparkling highs and about the same recording age, even older. Forgive the vid pls.
