music that gets you through life..

Migrated topic.
zubidlo is still on the mission to bring you a brake from cheesy, positive and forgettable tunes:evil: It's not meant as an any form of insult or criticism. It is just how zubidlo feels digging into this thread most of the time. So in the name of the natural balance, so here it comes...
It is a type of tune to be listened alone, in darkness, at DMT or psilocybin peak:d I would be happy to hear a report from such a entheogenic exploration of ones mind. I tend to explore these waste realms of dark emotions regularly on spice.

'I'm systematically destroying myself piece by piece'...'I will show you fear in hand full of dust'

from 'Morpheus - Rebis' : pure masterpiece of dark ambient from Spain and very hard to get too.

Enjoy and Regards.

David Tibet from Current 93 in cooperation with lovecraftian horror writer Thomas Ligotti:

'I have a Special Plan for this World'
(whole track is 22 min long)

Regards.

Every man is a star
Every heart is a light
Take the night
Into day
Born into the light
It's your right
Cross the tracks
Touch the sky

Awesome!!

...because the thoughts that fill a brain
that is a damaged brain
because the pain that fills a body
that is a damaged body
exists in other worlds
countless other worlds...

Hi,

I've recently became a big fan of Thomas Ligotti's books and his cooperation with David Tibet. He is growing on me:d I'm going to read his 'The Nightmare Factory' graphic novel as soon as I finish 'Dan Simmons - The Terror' which is great read too.

And I will listen to their sinister sound to support book narrative. Probably 'Current 93 with Thomas Ligotti - In A Foreign Town, In A Foreign Land (1997)' album.

Thomas is real superstar in 'psychological horror' sub-genre. Like Lovecraft's, he's work is somehow special.

Regards.

I also found Ligotti through Tibet way back. For a time it was annoying as most of his work was out of print, but recently a lot has been reprinted. Very much in tune with Lovecraft.

I enjoy the whole close nit family of NWW/C93/Coil and pals. I suppose The Legendary Pink Dots and Tear Garden could be lumped into the same extended family. All of them, though LPD/TG more so, are long term psychedelic pals of mine.

Along those same lines Michael Gira's Angels of Light are really great...as well Swans..although both bands are very different...Angels is more melodic along the lines of C93's Thunder Perfect Mind while Swans is more harsh and noisey..

Pink Dots/Tear Garden are great as well...cEvin Key is my musical hero!

So many of the links in this thread are broken... if anyone who posted has some spare time, it would be great to go through and add the names of the bands and the song next to the links. I want to listen to everything on here and see the span of everyone's musical tastes, but it's frustrating when so many are broken or the song is no longer up on youtube.

jussa lil saw-jest-shun.

Cheers,

JBArk

Yeah these are 3 of my favorites that are on the soft side. I listen to all of these at least once a week. then a few heavy ones...

So what state of mind are you looking for when you are listening to this electronic darkness?

Disturbing indeed. A disturbed state of mind then?
😉

I don't know. I'm listening dark music for some time now. I do listen rhythmic noise and death industrial sometimes, but this one it too much though. I thought it might be interesting for you to see this lads. I'm trying to find most scary music out there:d

Regards.

PS: If you found this visit to dark side interesting, check other zubidlo posts in this thread. It's not first time I annoyed here and not last I hope:d

Must admit i am intrigued by some of zubidlo posts :)

Pls, out of curiosity..
Why do you listen to this dark music then?
Is it from a creative/experimental sort of perspective?
Does this music go with any other interesting perspectives, styles or outlook on life perhaps?

I don't know. For me music is all about atmosphere. Doesn't need to be dark particularly, but it has to be atmospheric. I don't listen dark music all the time or everyday. I like to walk the dog in the park at evening with dark/ritual ambient on headphones or read a book with music on.
I do sometimes a threshold dose of 4-aco-dmt for music experience. Very interesting.
Here is something cool:
INADE - signals from 68 dimensions
put this on good soundsystem on DMT:d
