NaOH in dmt freebase

Is there a way to tell if there is NaOH in your FB? will it be in the form of a different looking solid? or is there a test or way to separate it?

If one was to smoke the freebase with trace amounts of NaOH how harmful would it be?

It vaporizes at a far higher temperature than DMT, ~1000F, so that's one indication. If you are passing the water through vapor, even better if you ask me.

You can always recrystallize your DMT if you are worried. There are techniques outlined in the wiki.

did you mean, passing the vapor through water? and if it won't vaporize till 1000f does this mean I'd be safe smoking it?

Safe enough to smoke it I think, but depending on your apparatus you definitely don't want little lye particles coming through and going into your throat/lungs. For example in my little crack pipe I definitely wouldn't want lye in the spice, but in a bong it wouldn't matter.

If it smells anything other than sweet and nice.
Re-crystallize that stuff and get a nice clean batch.
Swim got some harsh hits that induced sharp quick headaches after a large hit. They were not killer but made it harsh enough it was uncomfortable. Once he learned to Re-ex, which is super easy and kinda fun, he has had very smooth plentiful hits. Or so he tells me.

I have to agree here. There is nothing quite like the wonders of re-crystallization. I've become obsessed with it actually. I'm currently on my fifth time for this batch of freebase and I now have about 10 large crystal formations weighing anywhere from 200-400 mg. They look like little transparent hedgehogs. And you're right Volvox, they smell sweet and nice. Like new shoes with flowers in them.
