Naptha contaminated by rubber seal

Hey all, SWIM has a question for you. The other day he was pulling some spice and unfortunately had to leave on a journey before he could finish freeze precipitating out the goods. He decided to put the loaded naptha in a mason jar and take it with him so he could finish the extraction. However, when SWIM arrived, the naptha had melted the rubber seal on the mason jar lid, and the rubber had fallen into the naptha He thinks it is probably ruined, but is wondering if there's any way to salvage the spice?

Yea, tipping a glass jar upside down for freeze percip is mainstream practice, and from what ive heard, organic solvents corrode the seal. Word must be spread of this. In the future, put a folded up bit of aluminum foil on the lid before closing it.

Yes, or simply use a one piece lid that doesn't have the seal. But do you have any idea if theres a way to seperate out the spice from the rubber?

I would throw it away and consider it a hard lesson learned.

If you refuse to throw away because maybe its too much dmt or whatever, then I would try to clean it up several times in different ways. I would redissolve it all in vinegar, filter it well, defat the vinegar 3x or so, re-base, re-extract, freeze precipitate, redissolve in acetone, do FASA for fumarates, wash fumarates with acetone, and convert them to freebase like BLAB tek. That would probably get rid of a lot, maybe all of the impurities, but personally I would just extract again to be sure

yeah it was 100 grams of rootbark with only about ~200 mgs of spice extracted so far.. a sad loss, but not as bad as all that. SWIM still has another 100 grams of rootbark to work with so hes going to take your advice endlessness and start from square one again.

so then what you should do if you are going to let it go. Is nutralize it and put it back to nature somewhere. then at least it will go back to where it came from...

you should get much more then 200mg from 100g of bark. was this just one pull ? you can do more then just one pull , you know that right ?
