national geo

Migrated topic.
I've seen several of the various shows on Nat Geo they have. Form Taboo to Illicit drugs and how they got that way.
All have been pretty good but there are small pieces of misinformation in them that is surprising as N Geo is usually a great source.
For example, I watched the one episode where they talked about the San Pedro experience and they talk about the drug ( mescaline ) kicking in in minutes. I've tried cactus in many ways and mescaline is not a fast onsetter that is for sure.
But other than small complaints like that, I find them to be good shows and portrayed in a positive light rather than the scare tactics of the Anti Drug crowd.

Is doing a show on yopo and ayahausca right now. good shit.

Do you remember the name of this program?

Nat Geo usually does a pretty good job of keeping an objective view in their documentaries.

I'd love to check this one out if you could give us the name!
I don't have cable anymore, just didn't watch it enough...so any TV I watch is on the web now. HULU.com is great for this!
But Nat Geo has a website were you can watch most of their programs, I wonder if this one is available yet.

BTW, the History Channel has some very, very good documentaries on multi-dimensionalism & space-time information too!!
They also have most of heir programs on their website! A lot of good stuff over there!

Personally I'm not really a big fan of this type of programming. Because I think it begins to catch peoples attention and I would hate for it to become mainstream and the eventuality of it becoming a street drug.
I believe if you are truly in tune with other forms of reality you and dmt will cross paths.

The difference between this type of thing & YouTube videos & such, is that it is shown to be a sacrament to these people, in it's original & natural environment!! Not like a "street-drug" at all.
Did you watch the small preview link in amor_fati's post?

They actually stress that most of the people who do go out to Peru, etc, just to find another drug experience, are usually quite disappointed when don't find "a religious experience in one night"!!
But when the natives go there for healing, they are so much more accepting of the medicine & it is able to do it's business.

I've yet to see a "real" documentary on Ayahuasca that would do much more than scare off anyone seeking another drug to try!! w
With all the puking & shitting they always show at least one of the "naive, western" people going though!

Anyway, this isn't Joe Rogan & YouTube screaming..."20-minute LSD maaaaaan"...all over then place, or blabbering nonsense, while they stumble around a dorm room for 10 minutes!

These are well thought out fairly scientific document's.
You should check one out!😉
