Need Help Freeze Precipitating Highly DMT Saturated Naphtha Syrup

4kg A/B Extraction: Accidentally Reduced 2000ml Naphtha into 120ml Naphtha Syrup
Left Erlenmeyer flask in front of wall board heater with air blowing on top. Strong DMT smell from solution the likes of which I have never smelled before to the point to where it overpowers the naphtha. Attempted to take clear naphtha/DMT syrup and place it in a martini glass f/24 hrs. Only got a tiny amount of yellow DMT N-Oxide to precipitate (this must have been due to exposure to air while reducing) leaving a completely clear solution.

Added 3 eye droppers full of syrup to shot-glass, filled it up the rest of the way with naphtha, covered in foil, left in freezer f/24 hrs. No crystals.

I added 5 drops of the syrup to a Pyrex dish, (Attempting to let it evaporate down since it’s already syrup) lightly blew on the puddle to move it around. Within a couple of minutes of blowing on it, the syrup stuck to the glass.

What’s going on here? How do I get this stuff to turn into crystal?

P.S. I never meant to evaporate it down so much (99%?) .. I suspect I need help adding more naphtha to the solution in order to get it to actually freeze precipitate.

The question is how much naphtha?

If it is already evaporated down that much why not just let it finish evaporating all the way and then just re-x it?

I would add enough warm naphtha to it to completely dissolve it, and then put it into a beaker or some other shallow wide mouth glass vessel and do a slow evap on it and grow some very large shards.

You must keep in mind that when you are evaping that rich of a DMT/solvent solution you gotta add a little extra naphtha and dont allow the temp to drop much below room temp, other wise you'll get a fine snow precip in your container instead of nice large crystals.

Correction: syrup is somewhat misleading. It looks like clear naphtha, but smells like DMT. When we put the solution into the freezer, it almost immediately began to look cloudy, but nothing precipitated 24 hours afterwards. In fact it was slightly cloudy when I put it in there.

For example; I did a 100g a/b extraction, resulting naphtha solution was placed in a Pyrex dish, and after reducing/evaporating almost all of it, I finally got a syrup stuff (like what I have now) that would eventually turn into waxy crystals.

This solution is like pure concentrated DMT with naphtha in it you normally get after reducing a large volume of naphtha down (right before it turns into crystals after a 24 hour period)

My concern is with such a saturated solution where so little solvent is holding SO much product, why on earth does it not freeze precipitate?

Actual Factual > Recrystallizing should not be necessary using Vovin's tek, as it is so clean to begin with. The initial freeze precipitation took care of any airborne particles that may have entered into the solution while reducing. If I can, I would prefer to not Recrystallize due to a theoretical loss in product, however with a solution this pure, it should not be a concern. The majority of my concern is in which method to approach it from: freeze precipitation, or evaporation.

If I cannot determine the proper amount of naphtha to use in order to dilute it, I may resort to evaporation. The oxidization factor with evaporating is the reason why I would prefer freeze precipitation.

That's why I suggested evaporating it all the way to see what you have, because the crystals should be crashing out in the freezer. It is also strange that your solvent is clear because naphtha gets cloudy when supersaturated with DMT.

Well initially you said you had a syrup, so I was thinking that a warm solvent would dissolve it quicker more complete and then as it cooled you would get a nice cloudy solution ready for the freezer or evap.

Thats a huge difference in your expectations. I understand hoping for 40, but why do you suspect 10?

As long as you havent thrown anything out there should be allot more in there some where.

10g is a shot from the hip. A wager / guess.

A friend of mine walked through & smelt DMT coming from the 5000ml Erlenmeyer flask while it was accidentally reduced down to so little solution. They said the smell permeated the entire room. This made me suspect I lost considerable amounts of product. I'm hoping for 10g, however it smells so damn potent I also suspect more. (It's a toss up)

The fact the naphtha was reduced so much, (1% or less of it's original volume) is not cloudy, was left in front of a hot heat source, (Wall heater may have been too hot; did DMT burn? Should have made sure solution was a temperature less than 220F?) and the lack of crystals after 24 hours of freeze precipitation leaves me queasy to say the least. Not to mention after adding more naphtha to the syrup stuff, and throwing that into the freezer one would imagine they would precipitate something; but it yielded nothing.

I will see when this evaporates down. Have the solution in 4 Pyrex dishes covered in medical gauze (To assure air born particulates don't get in.) set up with a fan blowing directly down on top of them to aid evaporation. Who knows how long this will take, but when it's all finished I'll post yields. =)

i tried this also with a blowing fan but it all went to sheisse. the solution remained a liquid oil, dmt n oxide forming maybe?
can someone comment on that?
