Hi nikkinadler91,
I once had an experience very similar to that. I was smoked some changa and laid back onto my bed and closed my eyes. I melted into hyperspace and felt like I was floating in a black void with wisping bits of colors and geometric patterns here and there. This face that I can best describe as looking like Kali came into my vision and got closer and closer. It was like a floating head with a terrifying expression on it's face. It came right up to me and for some reason I began to laugh, the laughter just burst out of me almost uncontrollably, like I heard a really funny joke. Felt almost like a purge laugh. As soon as I began laughing the face changed and the terrifying expression changed instantly and it felt like it was laughing with me.
I found this particular experience to be interesting and have thought about if often over the years. In the Tibetan book the dead, it refers to peaceful and wrathful deities. These deities are aspects of you, they are a part of you and if you recognize that you pass the test so to speak and continue through the bardos. It did feel wrathful and peaceful but for some reason that was funny to me. It was a fun experience, never had fear, only like a realization that the wrathful deity was intended to be scary, like laughing through a haunted house and when I got the joke it just started laughing right along with me. So fun!
Take care.
