Hey all, I'm Varkus, I'm in my late 20s, and psychedelics, and especially psychedelic music have absolutely changed my life.
While nowadays I seldom do any trips, the appreciation for the substances and the culture will always stay with me.
When I was 18, I got introduced to Shpongle, which was precisely the moment everything changed for me. I got addicted to this music and couldn't get enough of it. I tried to find more music like this, but it was never enough.
In my early adulthood I've had many a trips, with ~30 different substances (primarily psychs, dissos, empathogens), so I feel like I know the world through and through, although I've still got to experience some of the things that are possible, I'm not the one to keep pushing higher and higher anymore.
In 2020, inspired by the music of Simon Posford, I started producing psychedelic music on my own. Last few years my music production has been on a hiatus, although I'm still deeply tied to this community, and in 2021 I started my own discord server for discovering psychedelic music and discussing music production. My productions aren't the best, but you can find them on my bandcamp (or in your streaming service of choice as Soundweaver) if you're interested.
I'm also very interested in technology, creating websites and simple games since I was a teen, now fiddling with AI a lot, also got a cybersecurity certificate. Inspired by Magic the Gathering, retro dungeon crawlers and Minecraft, I hope to create my own full-featured releases one day.
