Hey everybody just joined the site seems like a really good/friendly bunch of people and lots of good info =]
I just wanted to know a couple simple things, i have been reading up alot about N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT)
for awhile and it seems like a really interesting/beautiful/weird experience
i have never done any type or kind of hallucinogenic/psychedelic drug before so is this alright for a first one?
Should i just start with maybe 10mg's and work up to get sort of used to the feeling because i know even tho i'v read tons about it and what you experience i know it'll sneak up and kick me in the ass either way =P
So uh...
Whats a good starter dose
Best place/environment to do it
Does music do anything for it
What kinda things do you exactly see opened eye on a lower/non breakthrough dose
any kind of information/recent visuals and/or experiences from people who have done/tried it before would be really appreciated Thanks =]

I'm sure this is all been posted before sorry for any re posting i have done if so.

Hi there! Welcome aboard.

This is just me talking here. But especially as someone with no psychedelic experience you should start off smoking mere crumbs... like around 5mg measured on a scale. At that dose, colours will appear more vibrant and patterns and textures may animate or morph slightly. I always smoke lying down in bed. Silence is the easiest way to sink into the experience and also the least overbearing.

Nothing really can prepare you for this, but as long as you learn all you can, then go in with good intentions, nothing can go wrong. I'm still yet to have a classic "bad trip" with DMT. It just doesn't seem to wire me like say LSD or mushrooms.

Best of luck :)

Welcome crazyx..DMT gives you what it wants to.I've broken through on as little as 15 mg..but have done up to 70mg.Go in with good, pure intentions. Meditate on it a bit before...and SMILE!!!

There are different opinions on this. I would say YES, it's a good idea because of the length and the fact that you can have low dose experiences. 10mg won't do much though, but if you're uncertain, there's nothing wrong to get your feet wet. My friend approached the thing with a lot of caution and that was the right decision so far.

Some say that a low dose experience can be a bit unnerving...well, there's some truth to that. With a more intense experience, you're fully immersed in the otherworld. With a low dose, you're still here, feeling incredibly weird. Don't forget that the experience is also a body experience. Someone who never experienced something like this is most likely surprised by the strenght the effects have on the body....with 10mg you will notice a strong buzzing, vibrational type of feeling, it's more than just a tickle.

Relax, take a deep breath...maybe say a little prayer...at least promise yourself to surrender...and you'll be fine. If you don't have any open eye visuals, close them and you'll notice some fascinating patterns even with a low dose...with a higher sub breakthrough dose it gets weirder and weirder to a point where you have trouble explaining your experience. You might experience telepathic contact with beeings...THIS CAN HAPPEN ON A LOW DOSE ...so don't freak out. My friend never encountered evil beeings, but some have. All my friend ever experienced so far was great love.

There's also a point where you'll totally zone out...it's different to a low dose experience. So don't be afraid of losing contact with reality. You'll be back soon with a set of new, valuable memorys you can ponder in your quiet time.

Thanks to everyone for the advice, ill be taking it slow to start with then
i'll be trying it in a couple days so hope all goes well =]
Thanks again

I want to just say, my first DMT experience never happened because it is illegal. But if i did ever take DMT for the first time, it would have to be in the forest.
Sun shining, healthy body, nice and relaxed and with a friend to take the pipe from me once i was done toking.

i wonder how everything would look in say a forest or somewhere other then in a room probably really beautiful if it was a nice clear day, graveyard would be one unique place to go hah =P and ill be sure to post back on it

I'm not so sure with DMT because that is outside my sphere of experience as yet...but a psychedlic experience in a graveyard could be worthwhile, as it presents the observer with the idea of death. I think this is better presented in a graveyard, especially with flowers or trees growing from tombs. It presents the notion that 'death as an absolute finality' can be seen as a fallacy.

However, I would recommend having the experience in the daytime, as night-time in a graveyard can be an unpleasant place to be.

Good luck and safe journeys ^^

Crazyx,

If I may humbly suggest:

1.) Continue research (including much reading of the Nexus), reading and mediation.

2.) Be ready for literally anything. Be willing to accept/surrender to anything, including unresolved issues, fears, sense of death/dying, contact with entities, mystical feelings/experiences, extreme feelings resulting in laughing/crying, things that seem to be completely outside of the experience of your life or imagination . . .

3.) For someone such as myself (death obsessed, very few friends/relatives left due to death, family involved in the death industry, every single trip seeming to involve an aspect of death) a graveyard might be appropriate. I've had so many of these "death" experiences that when I last tried DMT and the grim reaper met me at the "door" and said (telepathically) in no uncertain terms that he had my number, I basically replied, "Yeah, I know, . . . let's get on with it," and I was off into a completely diferent, bright orange realm filled with playful entities. If the death trip is something you've worked on and it doesn't freak you out, then maybe a graveyard for initial setting. I like the forest idea much better. But, seriously, I would again humbly suggest that your initial experience(s) be at home, in a closed room/comfortable setting wtih non-direct lighting. Upbeat, positive themed, layered, psychedelic music can be very fun and helpful for me.

4.) Finally, and again humbly, because the further I go the less I know, I would suggest that you should "stack" low doses. Keep stacking ONLY if you like what is happening and you want to go deeper. It is always okay to stop, take time off for integration and come back later. For example, start wtih 10 mg, but after about five or 10 minutes, take 15 mg, then after five or 10 minutes, try 20 mg. When I do this, I get rather profound and deep results from the 20 mg dose, as it has stacked on top of the previous doses, which are not yet completely metabolized. I must admit, that when alone, the deeper I get into stacking, the more difficult it becomes to load a dose into my freebase bubbler.

I hope you will post your experience reports. I would love to learn what you decided and how it went. It is intriguing that you are considering DMT for your first psychedelic - almost like trying base jumping for your first free fall experience . . .

Peace & Love,
Pandora

Welcome!! If you want my advice.......listen to these people on here ^^^

They know their stuff and you can trust them! Good luck with your travels and see you on the boards!

You should have a clear mind, feeling good.
That's all. No crowded places, no other people and SILENCE.

Good luck.

I have to admit, DMT probably isn't the best first psychadelic. SWIM's first psychadelic was LSD, which she feels was almost completely ideal (with a very experianced friend who wanted to show and teach SWIM this way, watching SWIM carefully and taking me places, and making sure SWIM could walk when SWIM couldn't see the road in front of SWIM, so they could go see the stars next to the water). Mushrooms are also probably a bit more mild, though SIM is personally wary of them due to paranoia about fungi due to our own lack of knowledge about how fungi work and interact.

If your mind is set, then godspeed, my friend. Just be careful...

If you want my advice, don't do DMT as your first psychadelic experience, especially in a grave yard. (!?) Small steps is the way IMO.

Do you have someone you trust with psychedelic experience? That would play a large factor in my advice. Watching a friend go into DMT trance can be very scary, even if forewarned; I would definitely suggest having someone trusted for the first journey. In my ideal world, I would suggest starting with a heavy dose of LSD or a moderate dose of mushrooms. Unfortunately, in this world that typically involves one in the black market. Working with the Spice saves one from attendent dangers, and with a respectful approach, DMT tends to be very affectionate to humans. DMT-Nexus plays a huge role, as William S. Burroughs says, "They are poisoning and monopolising the hallucinogen drugs – learn to make it without any chemical corn."
