so,
did a test extraction on about 20g of good quality ACRB; very reliable vendor according to many
Here's how it went:
- powdered about 20g of it, put in glass container
- added 250 mL water
- added 2 g ascorbic acid
- shook like a morocco, waited 24 hours (no heat)
- added 65 g lye
- waited 16 hours
- added 50 mL naphtha
- realize that I forgot to salt; decided it's not too late and added 30g salt and 50 mL water
- stirred, then waited half an hour
- shook 4x; naphtha separated 4x but DID NOT CHANGE COLOR
- sucked out naphtha, evaporated naphtha and... nothing
- cried
- made tuna sandwich
yield: 1 tuna sandwich; 0 mg spice
granted I only did one pull, but still, the naphtha didn't change color whatsoever...
I wanted to try a larger quantity after this test but this makes me worried...
