no yield on test extraction :(

so,

did a test extraction on about 20g of good quality ACRB; very reliable vendor according to many

Here's how it went:

- powdered about 20g of it, put in glass container
- added 250 mL water
- added 2 g ascorbic acid
- shook like a morocco, waited 24 hours (no heat)
- added 65 g lye
- waited 16 hours
- added 50 mL naphtha
- realize that I forgot to salt; decided it's not too late and added 30g salt and 50 mL water
- stirred, then waited half an hour
- shook 4x; naphtha separated 4x but DID NOT CHANGE COLOR
- sucked out naphtha, evaporated naphtha and... nothing
- cried
- made tuna sandwich

yield: 1 tuna sandwich; 0 mg spice

granted I only did one pull, but still, the naphtha didn't change color whatsoever...
I wanted to try a larger quantity after this test but this makes me worried...

actually I thought I understood quite well the chemistry behind what I was doing :?
What was it in there that made me look like i didn't know?

If I was to do an extraction I would:

• Do an A/B with boils, decanting, filtering and reduction
• Use more than 20g, I would start at 100g
• Rather than 1 pull I would do at least 3
• Evaporate combined solvent until it clouds when you blow on it (or if you’re lucky the solvent is cloudy with no evaporation)
• Rather than evaporation to retrieve the spice I would freeze precipate, saving solvent and leaving a cleaner product

Thanks for the advice. I do feel that everything would get saturated faster with more bark, although my dorm does not allow cooking devices so I can't do a full A/B with boils. I just did 3 more pulls, combined the result, and put it in the freezer. I'll check on it in a few hours but I doubt I'll get anything considering the results of the first pull

Question for all though, does your solvent usually change color upon separation?

I think you should scrap all this including the tuna as we all know BLT is where it at:thumb_up:
then read the TEK you want to do a few times then go from there IMO Cybs TEK is the best for newbies but that's just MO !!

As for not having cooking devices; it doesn't have to boil, getting it up to 40~50C is enough. How hot is the water from the tap (you can make heat baths, isolate and replenish)? Have any central heating available (putting a pan on the radiator for instance)?

Maybe you should avoid further extraction work until you are in a suitable environment. You should not be doing extractions in places that you do not have full control over. You:

• have been forced to cut corners in the process
• do not have control over who is there when you are working
• are most likely not able to create a good working environment
• are increasing the risk you take massively

After doing some research on dmt related 'raids', quite many of them seem to happen in dorms. It is your responsibility to protect yourself.

to add to what d*l*b was saying, I would strongly advise that you use as many food safe chemicals as you can. Things like limonene and vinnigar would be a great start. I'm not sure how effective ethanol is but it has no real odor.

I dont want to tell you not to enjoy the magic of dmt, just to be safer about doing it. Police and media dress up a STB extraction as a "highly explosive operation similar to a meth lab" to make drugs that "paralyze you and rip your mind out of your body" and may cause "extreme psychosis". People eat stories like that for breakfast.

A prosecuter will have a much more difficult time holding up a bottle of vinnigar and booze selling you out to be some sort of drug terrorist. Just google 'the most dangerous drug in the world' and guess what pops up.

Not trying to lecture you out, I do have a soft spot for people in more restrictive conditions and I worry for their safety, that they may become a victim of the dumb. Stay safe and cover thy six!

I just realized something while hopping back into this thread. Evap your solvent to 1/3 it's volume, then stick it in the freezer. Wait a day and scrape out your crystals.

We are against people extracting or using substances in student dorms/parents/shared houses or any other unsafe place or where the owners or roommates do not agree with what is being done. We do not give tips on 'stealth' teks. Do not do it unless the owner of the place accepts his/her full responsibility for the actions being done. If you don't have such a place to extract now, be patient, many have waited years and years for the right moment.

Thank you all for your concern for my safety and security. Fortunately, my roommates are very accepting and are definitely not anthing concerning, even if they find out what's going on.

I understand that many have waited indefinetely for the perfect time and place.

However, I have made a promise to someone I care about very much- the only reason I went searching for something like this molecule in the first place. To be perfectly honest, I don't even know if this molecule is the thing I was looking for, but it's worth a shot.

My apologies if I'm sounding vague, but currently it's rather personal and quite sad.
