not sure if I failed or just goo

Hi, I did STB extraction using 870ml water 50g MHRB pre-powdered 60g lye.
I did 4 pulls, Freeze Precip
after scraping the DMT off the first jar this is what I got (picture)
is this the goo ? is it smokable ?

Yes that does look like goo but I have never gotten goo from MHRB before. If you let it sit for awhile it should dry into a wax.

If you can get it into a device for vaping/smoking, you should be good to go!

From what tek my friend uses it's 1g:1g ratio of bark/lye and for every gram of those is 15ml of water. Naphtha can be more or less then 1ml:15ml of water. My friend has experienced getting goo like this, however it is only when he has left his jars sitting too long and then tried to do one final pull.

Did you let this sit for a couple of days before your first pull? Or second or third perhaps? If so that could be why, or it could be toomuch lye to bark, or even you just picked up too much dark lower layer particles in your naphtha.

I personally would try doing a sodium carbonate wash on your goo and see what that turns up.

You could probably smoke this, although I don't personally know how healthy it might be or how strong of an experience will occur.

Its quite yellow so I will probably wash it

Sounds like spice to me , put a small dot on a knife and vape it off to see if it leaves a residue. If it does then recrystalize it or dissolve in IPA and evaporate, if not then you're good to go.

The only times I've ever had goos from MHRB is if I used salt that had anticaking agents in them(it still eventually hardened after a day under the fan), or if it was slightly contaminated with plastic.

If it smokes fine then I wouldn't worry. Bioassay for truth!

Just to note that 230mg from 50g bark is a very low yield. Have you made any more pulls on it? Because there should still be lots of goodies left in your soup.
