NPS color after freeze precipitation

Yea over time if you're reusing the same solvent it can turn more and more yellow. And yellow DMT in a solution of fresh solvent can turn it yellow too.

I think you can clean the solvent up by washing the solvent with an acidic water solution. An acid wash should convert and separate any DMT left in the solvent (you can't practically freeze out 100% of it).

Another thing to try is an activated charcoal wash. I think the idea is solutes, including DMT, bind with the AC.

It can be a pain to filter that so distillation might be the best thing after an AC wash.

Awesome, thanks. My other solvent and spice have always just been clear and white when they were done. The yellow of the fresh solvent threw me off.

Has the extraction been sitting for a while before pulling with the fresh solvent? The longer DMT is in contact with alkaline water, the more yellow it gets IME. Heat can make it yellow faster.

It would be more odd if the solvent was yellow off the first pull, especially if the basic soup wasn't left sitting too long or too hot.

It was sitting close to a week on the first pull. Ended up having a busy work week and couldn’t get to it sooner. Didn’t have any heat on it though. I dont really have a way to heat anything at the moment beyond a small pot but my stove is gas so it sketches me out.

Ahh yep sitting for a week is prob the reason the solvent yellowed. What color was the dmt that froze out?

You could thrift a crockpot. Or boil some water then turn the burner off before adding the open jar to the water bath

The first pull was already as yellow as probably my 4th pull on previous batches. And even once it was done freezing, the solvent just stayed neon yellow.
