official extraction help thread

Migrated topic.
i advise everyone to try and understand what it is that is actually happening, with this extraction, it will make things a lot more easy to grasp. like, what is a freebase. or just the fundamentals of acid-base extraction in general. because beyond that, the only really unique thing here is that naptha is a very ineffective solvent at room temp for DMT, and it only pulls it in once warm to hot, and doesnt release it until very cold, resulting in what usually is a nice clean transition into crystals.
remember, you can do cold/room temp pulls using almost any other NP solvent or polar solvent, then evaporate that down, and then process with naptha the same way as you would on your soup, except now you have a few tablespoons of sludgy oil not litres of emulsifiable bark soup.

also, someone said dmt acetate was bad, if you take that concentrate, add sodium carbonate, in excess, you can now do a very easy and convenient pull as i just described above, with more volume of naptha than your start material. nice and safe and easy to make warm, and youll probably even have some indication of pull purity and ability to fine tune based on how the color migrates over because the naptha will for the most part remain clear.

FYI, for polar vs non polar. a short easy way to remember is that freebase oils are non polar, HOWEVER freebases usually sum out to be low-polarity meaning they are pole-neutral and will just dissolve in anything to a degree. the salts of said freebases once acid is applied tend to be quite polar, as they now dissolve in water. polar solvents dont neccesarily have a high affinity for water, but they will have one, wheras non polar will be explicitly very low. if you mentally interchange polar/non-polar with affinity for water, or, some opposite-image of oil/petro-oil/floats on or beads on water, 9/10 youll have the right idea.
DCM, ethyl acetate and ethers (not pet ethers, they arent actually ethers) are low water solubility polar solvents which also just arent very polar, hence why they dont readily mix into water like highly polar alcohols.
I got tired writing this, and dont have a fun way to segway in, so ill just drop this one last fact. using EtAC, DCM, chloroform or ether, you will potentially dissolve weaker polar DMT salts, they will partition as a fraction between the solvents. DCM and DMT acetate is an example as DCM also will pull acetic acid out of water. polar solvents will also pull alcohols out too and will not interact with alcohol containing water the same as regular water.

Basically a little thought must go into any use of polar solvents, they will penetrate bark and coalescque dmt dispersions into droplets better than NP because they also dissolve in the water slightly, the benefit is pretty much mechanical here though.
but NP solvents, dont worry about it, just remember that you are literally mixing oil and water, or oil and milk rather
