What are the best ways and tricks to stir your naphta acicic/basified solution mix in order to get an effective naphta wash without getting foam between the layers?
(in a seperatory funnel, or are there better vessels to mix it?)

Any glass bottle should be okay. Thicker is better.
Turning “end over end” is recommended, as opposed to shaking.

Some use HDPE plastic. Some say glass will etch and occasionally break.
Always wear safety glasses, gloves, etc and open-to-vent mixing jars frequently as strong bases produce heat and pressure build up that could lead to shattering.

patience is key, don't want to shake because it will cause air to be trapped making the separation take longer. due to excessive agitation, end over end will cause some agitation but not excessive but overall valid
but wanting to speed up the process apply hot water over it or if the container is already warm will allowing more to be absorbed, after end over end, let it sit for awhile and you should get a good separation, want to make make sure is made contact with all the extract.

SWIMS Defatting is around 1h, many do not do defats, and extract around little over 1h in warm conditions preference of what he feels

Okay best is to heat both the acidic solution and the naphta, or just the naphta in a heat bath?
Is there any reason to avoid defatting longer than an hour? for example let the naphta one or two days in the acidic solution, while turning it end over end 2 to 3 times for 5 minutes?
and the same question for the basified solution

SWIM heats acidic solution so a doesn't have want to warm the naphtha, it will become warm after contacting the warm acidic soloution. same goes for base

A doesn't have to do defat for a hour or longer & SWIM does an hour per defat, he feels that works best for SWIM, though it doesn't have to be a hour or a day or two


the process from acidic solution to crystals takes about 3 days For SWIM

Hi,

I'm from the UK where it might be a bit tricky to get MHRB.

I've found some on various websites but they all come in different shapes and colours such as purple, brown, green and pre-shredded, shredded, powder.

Some places they mention the extract such as 10:1, 20:1 etc.

Can someone please explain to me the differences between each colour and the mentioned ratio?

I've actually read it beforehand and that's why I'm just asking for information about the various forms of MHRB.

First time extracting, first time posting. I used the FASA method outlined in the The FASA Method: A Summary - DMT Fumarate and Beyond thread.

Background:
For my extraction I used live Acacia Acuminata phallodes. I didn't dry them. I've already added the shredded phallodes to the citric-acid-acetone solution. I just filtered out the phallodes and the solution looks milky, kinda like when you mix fuel and water or oil and water.

Problem:
I think I got some water into my citric-acid-acetone solution.

Question:
How do I get rid of the water?

Yes or no questions that you don't need to answer but would be great if you did:
1. Do we have to convert our dmt-fumarate to freebase dmt after we've washed it with acetone?
2. Can we dry our acetone after we've added citric acid and our plant material to it?
3. Can we filter off the magnesium sulphate when drying out our acetone instead of using a pipette?
4. Can we use silica gel to dry out our acetone instead of magnesium sulphate?

Sounds like you pulled water from the fresh leaf, not too sure how you would fix that but I would dry it next time.

If you want to smoke the spice then it should be converted to freebase.

You can filter out the magnesium, but that can be difficult sometimes.

I wouldn't put silica into acetone.

What do you mean "wash" with naphtha? What are you trying to achieve by this "wash"? Usually you pull the dmt with naphtha from the basified solution and yes if it turns milky it's a sign of dmt but not always

the goo you got is most likely active.. depending on your technique it could be safe to use or not.. fast evaporation will result in goo that might harden and crystallize but not always.. if you want crystals you must freeze precipitate

Yes you can and this is sometimes advised.

Even better is to have a solution that is milky at room temp but clear when hot. Then slowly cool down the solution to room temp, then fridge, then freezer, to get largest/purest crystals.

Look up recrystallization tutoritals on YT to understand the process - it's the same principle used when crystallizing salt, copper sulfate or DMT.
