Just one quick question before I set sail. Is this http://www.everyonedoesit.com/online_headshop/Glass_Gauze__Small.cfm?iProductID=2804 glass gauze fine for the job? It worries me a bit that the spice could bypass the holes around the star whilst sucking the pipe. what's your thoughts? use ash? or just a normal metal screen?

That's not suitable at all.
A Glass Vapor Genie with a Volcano Liquid Pad is ideal. Other wise, google "The Machine" or Look at getting a volcano liquid pad to stuff into a "steamroller" pipe.

DMT melts into a liquid before vaporizing, and while a liquid it likes to run into the cooler spots on a bowl/pipe.
Try pre heating any bowl/mesh, before pouring on the DMT to melt it slightly. This helps it stick to the Bowl/mesh while vaporizing as opposed to the powder simply falling through.

Yes you dont want to light your spice directly, you can, if your using a bowl then just get some steel wool, but what you wanna get is the vapor genie or some kind of vapor pipe.

If you don't have a GVG, and don't want to spend the money for it, simply use a small glass pipe with at least 4 screens on top of each other. Make sure you use a torch lighter though, since you want to vape the spice. good luck!
