Ongoing Salvia divinorum Oral Trial — Salvine Tek

@stuartroelke

In the past, I was able to consistently get noticeable effects from Psilocybe cubensis. However, ever since using high doses of freebase DMT, I have been unable to get meaningful effects from Cubensis.

Strangely, when I combine AC with harmala, I do experience clear psychedelic effects, including a distinct psychedelic headspace and visual phenomena. I have tried multiple different batches of Cubensis, but none seem to work anymore. At most, I may experience a very faint energetic sensation.

The doses I have tried have ranged from 2 g to 4 g. I typically take Cubensis only once every three months, although there have also been periods of 7–9 months without using it, so ordinary tolerance does not seem to explain the lack of effects.

Today, for example, I took 1 g of harmala resin and, one hour later, 3.5 g of Cubensis. I experienced absolutely no noticeable effects from the Cubensis.

I had hoped that Salvia divinorum might provide an entheogenic experience where Cubensis no longer seems to work, but unfortunately, it seems I am missing the boat with Salvia as well.

I was just thinking: this is like if someone told me that 2g of mushrooms has no effect—it's an equivalent shock. I've successfully administered Salvine a vast number of times since the initial discovery. Perhaps I'm very sensitive? Or, you are not as sensitive as others?

It's still difficult for me not to consider a metabolic discrepancy. I'll keep pushing for maximum absorption with my latest idea.

One of the testers who partook without my supervision regularly vapes spice, and they claimed to be disappointed by the potency (or lack thereof) after dosing 1.5g of salvia powder. It was felt, but not to a degree that they had hoped. Perhaps the spirit molecule lowers overall tolerance. I haven't heard that claim before, though.

That's extremely odd. Don't want to talk about sourcing specifically, but are you growing your own plants? I ask because 5g of powdered my homegrown Salvia divinorum administered as a combination buccal / sublingual for ~30 minutes would be an insane quid for me—that should be equivalent to chewing over twenty fresh leaves.

Have you smoked any plain leaf from this batch? Made any extracts? Is there a potency that you typically smoke?

1. Are you growing your own plants?
No, I’m not growing my own plants, nor does anyone in my direct circle. I bought a small live plant about 1–1.5 years ago, but unfortunately it died. I’m currently in contact with the seller to see if he has a larger variety, which he does, but I haven’t purchased it yet. I first want to determine whether I can get meaningful effects from Salvia divinorum that I can incorporate into my esoteric practices.

2. Have you smoked any plain leaf from this batch?
I stopped smoking both nicotine and cannabis around seven years ago. Because of that, I’m not inclined to smoke Salvia divinorum either, whether as a conventional ROA or as an experimental application. I’ve read that some people experience adverse effects from smoking this plant, so I’m not necessarily eager to vape the plant either.

3. Made any extracts?
Yesterday, I researched how to make tinctures, but my investigation didn’t lead to any particularly noteworthy methods. I do have 92% ethanol available, so if necessary, I could use that to prepare an alcohol-based tincture. I also have an alcohol meter, allowing me to dilute it to whatever lower percentage may be appropriate. If you have any extraction teks that don’t rely on acetone or other hazardous chemicals, feel free to share them.

If quidding 5g of leaf powder did not disgust you—as it would most people—then you can simply soak dried leaves in alcohol before evaporating down to the desired quantity of bitter tincture. I typically soak ~60g of crushed leaves in ~200-300ml 95% ethanol for ~14 days, then thoroughly strain and evaporate down to 1oz. Starting with a large quantity of ethanol is probably necessary due to the low solubility limit.

My recipe might not always be consistent, but it's incredibly easy. Sublingual administration with a full dropper of tincture—cut with a dropper of water—typically gets me into a great space for salviaic sensations, feelings of derealization, and CEVs.

I'd guess that your leaves are low potency, or you have a natural tolerance the likes of which I've never heard of. Very interesting if it's the latter.

@JosBoaz try testing it on someone willing to try it to rule out natural tolerance.

Also If you cannot grow divinorum I suggest growing Salvia recognita, potentifolia, glutinosa, or abscondifolia - I think recognita is the most potent IIRC. Its less potent than divinorum by 1/4th-1/20th but its very hardy. Im thinking about making a 5X recognita extract to mimic plain leaf divinorum

Heres a supplier if you want they also have glutinosa

I think we could breed potent strains that equal divinorum
