Ok, there's no beating around the bush here. Sora is absolutely mindblowing. When perfected, this model will be fully capable of creating entire movies no problem. I won't pretend I understand how this kind of thing works in depth, but I can say for sure it's blowing my socks off with just how amazing it is.

Here's a short video that covers what has been made public and explains the model a bit.

It's represents the culmination and end point of this circus of celebrity, social media and general vicarious picture and video living that has come to take over so many lives these last years.
This, when fully developed essentially renders all of that meaningless and one won't be able to tell what is real of fake anymore from the media or video format. A return to living with presence through direct experience is the only way one can be real.

I think we're past that now and have been for quite a while. Ever since deepfake technology came about, really. You just cannot trust any video or recording you see, or any audio you hear.

The days of being able to trust posts are long gone. I'm fairly confident that with access
to the chatgpt 4.0 API, some preprogramming of its responses and a python script I could make a bot that would show up on the Nexus and blend in somewhat.
I'm also pretty sure that this is indeed fairly easy to implement.

Kind regards,

I thought that we had one but it's already ragequit on us?

😉

News to my ears. Everyone did a SHE to unleash hivemind syntropic intelligence to overwhelm the bot? Or did someone just tell it that despite its very convincing writing style it will never be able to taste the spice?

Wow. Once this is fully released, even fully perfected, I think it'll take quite a while to catch on just because people won't even know what to do with it - I'm sure there'll be a lot of drama in the entertainment industry as well, but once this is fully integrated into society, I honestly can't even fathom what the production of art and entertainment will look like from there on out.

So, Sora's current capability seems to be a couple of minutes of, say, 1080×1920px at 60fps, with a processing time that seems to be within the same order of magnitude as the playing time? This makes me wonder - how does the end result look at cinematic screen size? Is there any process load concession derived from continuity? And how does the total energy cost for tacking 60 or so of these segments together compare with the full energy cost of producing a feature film? It's this final element that could be the deciding factor in making Hollywood film stars and their lavish multimillionaire lifestyles obsolete. Who would really care or notice if the celebrity section of the media was replaced by AI fake news anyhow?

Nuking of celebrity lifestyles could be an unexpected benefit of AI movies. Maybe Elon Musk got scared because he realised his job selling snake oil could be done just as well by a robot.
