So I just ordered 200g MHRB powder.
I will only use half first time round.

Could someone specify the material of things I may use?
By that I mean, no plastic for the naphta (is this correct?)

Also, i dont plan on doing the extraction for at least a week or two. Can I soak it in vinegar longer than 4 days for a higher yield? (Or is there a problem with too much acid soaking?)

just goto page two of this post (check my posts) for all the stuff you need, decanting is easier then syringe or turkey baster.
Also you can evap the naptha instead of freeze precip.

You dont need to freeze precip, slow evap makes bigger crystals. And No, you do not need to have a turkey baster if you already have a syringe. I use both, because i use gigantic jugs..which probably arent necessary.. anyways.

I now have all my ingredients/material, excluding citric acid.

Will mix the vinegar with MHRB powder in about 3 days.

SWIM has had his bark(100g) in 500mL of vinegar for 5 days. He will be performing the first pull later this afternoon. He was wondering if he could use more water to bring the level up to the brim of his jug, that way he'd be able to pull quite easily.

Does it matter the amount of water to use?

edit: SWIM would compensate by adding more lye as well, just to make sure its safely basified.

Ive skimmed this thread like 4-5 times in the past 3 days, and didnt even see this.

You can use lemon or lime juice instead of citric acid. careful its strong, SWIM used about 15mL squeezed from a lemon

Getting some nice evenly spaced quartz-like crystals in one jar. THey are pure white.

However, Im also getting what looks like sediment, a brownish layer being formed at the bottom as well. Is this "jungle spice"? The Naphta was completely clear at first. Now its going cloudy, so its not the basified gunk.

Can anyone identify this please?

Can you post a photo? Swim did some experimenting with this tek and posted some pictures a couple of month ago.

I have been converted, from a staunch STB user to a panoramicist
one pull of this tek was greater than the entirety of the stb i ran at the same time using same materials.
Just one question, do you only use one pull with this tek or is it worth using more pulls?

I've pulled jungle with very heated naptha before. When it came out of the freezer, it looked like normal spice, but as I set it in front of the fan to dry, it melted into jungle spice. I had one ( first ) pull like this, the other two were with less heated naptha, and produced normal spice pulls. The jungle was killer though. This only happened once, and I haven't been able to replicate it since using that method. When I want Jungle, I do a pull with toluene.
