Is it worth buying a cheap (max. £30 or $40) ph meter?
I was using narrow range litmus papers so far, but there are some cheap ph meter available and overall it seems cheaper to use a ph meter.
Any advice would be appreciated if you used one before!
SWIM bought a digital ph meter but hasn't used it since he started doing STB. It would come in handy for A/B extractions but it isn't really necessary to check the ph when using the proper ratios in a STB.
they're useful for all sorts of extractions, but yeah, particularly a/b.
they're essential for compounds sensitive to high pH i.e. psilocin. swim swears by the Hanna Instruments pen-type meters, can't go wrong with those, but the pH Checker is half the price and works just as well (just doesn't have a thermo).
