As I am not from USA a $25 ebay Glass Seperatory funnel will cost $330 to have it shipped to me via UPS... WoW!!

So thats why I am looking for an appropriate plastic funnel that can be posted with normal post without breakage.

Any ideas on what type of plastic funnel would be sufficient to withstand d-limone?

Somewhere in the 69Ron d-limonene with Hcl Tek thread, it is stated that you can use polypropylene materials.

On another site I read that is not advised to store limonene in polypropylene as it can soften the plastics when stored for a long period. I don't know wether this softening is related to solubility.

Softening of polypropylene is caused by the d-limo absorbing into the plastic over time. As long as the funnel PP doesn't contain plasticizers that will leach into the d-limo, SWIY's limo should be fine since the PP itself will not leach into the d-limo very readily. Either way if the d-limo is only the PP funnel for a few hours before the funnel is cleaned out, the funnel and limo should be fine. Problems may arise if SWIY's limo is stored in there for say weeks or months however. HDPE is also used to store d-limo in many cases, although I don't know if HDPE is often used to make funnels.

Naptha will absorb into most polymers much faster than limo, and also slowly leach the HDPE into the naptha. SWIM has never seen naptha sold in HDPE containers, and cannot recommend HDPE containers for naptha storage. Glass containers work well to store naptha and dilute hydroxide solutions. Pasta, pickle and mason jars work well if SWIY doesn't want to invest in fancy glassware!
