Please free me from online purgatory! :)

Rising Star
Greetings to all the travelers on the nexus! I have been lurking for a while and thoroughly enjoying this valuable resource.

I have never smoked snorted or injected dmt or 5meo but I have had aya.
I am about to move and I am dreaming about whipping my mhrb into some crystals before the big move. I have never done an extraction before but in my dream I saw myself using the marsofold tek. And I have a important question. Being a health conscious kind of dude I am worried about consuming the residues of the solvents left behind in the extraction but I'm not super impressed with the eco teks and 60 -70 % pure dmt fumerate. So that leaves me with trying to find a heavy duty food grade base and a really clean non polar solvent. Any suggestions would be great. My question has to do with Mountain Safety Research superfuel as a non polar solvent.

From the website: "MSR® SuperFuel is the highest-performance white gas on the market, more refined and cleaner-burning than any comparable fuel and unmatched for reducing clogs and maintenance.

Superior Performance: Designed to improve stove performance, with fewer cleanings and less maintenance.
Clean-Burning: Tested to be 100% pure.
Reduced Clogging: No dyes or additives to solidify and cause clogs.
View specs in printer-friendly format 1 Qt.
Volume 32 fl. oz / .95 liters
Country of Origin Made in Seattle, USA"

How would this compare to naptha? All gas is non polar right?
Anyways, hopefully I will be let out of purgatory before I have to move so I can post my question to the extraction sub forum (hint, hint)

Other than that pressing question I guess I would like to say how impressed I was with ayahuasca and how much I look forward to trying pure dmt and hopefully five meo. I look forward to sharing whatever I can with you all and hearing about your travels!

As this was more of a question for information than an introduction essay, I moved it to the appropriate subforum.

Outta curiosity, where did you come up with this?

Thanks for putting my q in the right forum
I was under the impression that I could only post in the intro section till no longer on probation
How embarrassing
I looked through some of the Eco teks and the end product was dmt fumirate.
Which according to Ratsch is 60 percent dmt
According to the teks can be more than 70
Perhaps I overlooked a purification step
Sorry bout my confusion
Onwards and upwards

This is just a guess, but--if I properly understand your confusion, the clarification may be--

With any tech, you will have to freebase at the end. There are food-grade ways to freebase, too!

The 70% also doesn't mean pulling 70% of the spice from your plant material; rather, DMT freebase is something like 70% of the WEIGHT of DMT fumarate. You can still pull 1-2% DMT from good bark with limonene: regardless of your yields, you will have to freebase to smoke it, and the weight will drop. If done properly, however, no spice will be lost and you will still have that initial 1-2% to smoke. What ends up getting lost in the conversion is other... stuff... from the fumarates. Not the actual spice that you intend to smoke.

Does that make sense?

If that is not at all what you were confused about, pay no mind. :d

(OMG... Did Minxx just answer a CHEMISTRY QUESTION?!?!)

Thanx Minxx!

Ragabr, I love your avatar. I spent a half an hour looking for that picture online the other day.

@ The traveler, Christian Ratsch mentioned that DMT fumarate was only 60% DMT in his encyclepedia of psychoactive plants. Amor fati's tek says that the fumarate was 76% and I apparently overlooked the part where sodium carbonate was added to remove the fumaric acid. Sorry. Like I said moving lack of sleep etc.
I guess my not being impressed had to do with my lack of understanding these eco solvents and the whole fumaric process. Was wondering how one would be able to break through 60-70% DMT.

Live up, I dont have the encyclopedia here with me, gonna be back home in a few days to check it.. I find weird that he mentioned 60%... Maybe you got something mixed up? Can you give the exact quote?

BTW, when Amor Fati's tek or in the wiki, it says it is 76% DMT, it means that, as ms minxx tried to say, 76% of the weight of DMT fumarate is DMT, while the other 24% is the Fumaric acid ion (thats why it dmt fumarate). Once one converts it to freebase, it will lose those 24% of the fumaric acid weight (which would have been neutralized by the sodium carbonate base), and the resulting product theoretically will be 100% DMT. So yes you can definitely breakthrough on it.

Even when people mix DMT with herbs in a 1:1 proportion for making changa or enhanced herbs (meaning it will be 50% DMT, 50% herbs), one can still breakthrough on it.

Cheers, LiveUp, I will find the link for you.

Welcome to the Nexus. To find out about the gas you're thinking about using, I would suggest looking at the MSDS to see what the mixture actually is.
