Nope, they do not evep away like hcl. In these cases the solvent mix (and excess acid) was decanted or filtered off leaving only pure crystals. The starting material was tan mesc hcl that had been washed in MEK already, so no cleaning was needed.

Did foaf salt the toluene pulls with just 100ml of water? Or did he do multiple saltings?

Stir plates are amazing. But ya only need to do one salting of the total toluene via a titration process that dg sums up nicely in another thread, nice and hassle free.

The MEK wash gets rid of impurities in the final product. It is a must imho and SWIM thinks it works better than acetone. Make sure to post a pic!

Thought I would share... recent extraction of 935mg m.fumarate recrystallized in acetone/IPA from 100g pedro powder nice pure white crystals. Super potent
