have just done my first extraction. I followed the most informative and well made youtube video with great success. I believe it would be A STB tec but as I am a dumb monkey that can only parrot another persons work I have no idea of the chemistry behind it. My question is... Is it ok to post the youtube link here?

It's allowed as long as there's no personally identifiable information in your account. It's not unlikely that there is, as people tend to reuse usernames or leave other information that can be used to trace it back to your identity.

If you're completely sure there's nothing that may lead to your identity there, you can post it.

[EDIT: I was wrong and it's NOT allowed in the general case, such as just showing an extraction. See Attitude guideline 2.10, and below in this thread]

A better option in general would be to upload the video here. If you choose to upload it here, make sure to upload it compressed (e.g. at 360p or 480p) so the file is not excessively large.

Another option is to upload it to a third party that doesn't require an account. I like Catbox for that (ignore the anime stuff).

Thank you one, upload incoming

Hi
I’m sorry, but that is not correct. Rule 2.10 explicitly prohibits the use of YouTube in combination with extractions. So unfortunately the video you posted here would therefore have to be removed.
Hi so I had a look aat the rule 2.10 and it states

No commercial-scaled extractions and reckless “spreading”

The Nexus is not a place for commercial operations and we do not want to support drug dealers; we believe in using these substances for personal use.

If and when sharing these substances, we believe that it has to be done without money or other payments involved, with a careful approach and care when facilitating the introduction and/or experience of others.

It is imperative to take care that the person ingesting has no contraindicating medical/psychological history, takes it in a proper set and setting, and correct dosage/method of ingestion. This cannot be done if the substances are spread on a large scale. We do not want to "turn on the world", those who are ready will seek it. Indiscriminate spreading of psychedelics can lead to potential serious damage to people and is a big legal liability. Big extractions (and the preparations leading to it and gathering of materials) can attract the attention of the Law.

Spreading of the message of psychedelics itself through superficial YouTube videos showing use or extractions can also cause a lot of damage to the community (as happened with salvia) and is frowned upon.

The YouTube section states superficial. If you would care to watch the video it is far from superficial. It is a very clear and concise method with tips on how to do the extraction safely. The video was also uploadded as opposed to being linked to youtube. If you would prefer i can reupload the vid with out mentioning youtube in the description.

Apologies for causing a ruckus on my first post

@Varallo is right, I didn't remember that.

I think uploading the video here (or to some neutral, that is not social, file hosting service) is the better option anyways.

No problem, you did the right thing by asking in case of doubt. I just didn't remember that part of the guideline and messed up. Now I do, so we both got something from it.
