Proposal for a Nexus-Based Handbook

SWIM would like to see a Nexus-wide collaboration effort to produce a DMT handbook, maybe something more along the lines of a wiki. In any case, It should be an open-ended, all-inclusive effort, open to revisions on a periodic basis (or maybe a podcast subscription pdf?). The focus of this particular handbook should be DMT with some reference to its allies. SWIM could probably focus a significant amount of time to this over the break to get it started. SWIM will consider this more of a research project than a tek, as nothing entirely new or specific will be proposed within it. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

SWIM would support a collaborative wiki database open-ended to users. Would suggest a PHP based wiki (MediaWiki, GetWiki, etc) to be hosted on nexus. Another thing though, would the information obtained over this website be liable of false information gathered and tampered by deranged SWIMers? What benefits would the information be of public over private?

These are valid concerns, so SWIM suggests perhaps a combination of a wiki and a periodical pdf release. This would perhaps be along the lines of open-source programming--nightly builds (an ever-changing wiki) that would eventually lead up to a official periodical release (the pdf). The wiki would exist purely for the sake of the collaboratory effort, while the forum remains for active research, speculations, and for technical support. A pdf would of course serve as the definitive reference; though to remain as such, it would have to evolve in accordance with the forum.

Of course, whoever writes the pdf will have the final say, but they will be hard-pressed to adhere to collaborative product rather than personal prerogative. Depending on how many SWIY's were deeply involved in this, the periodical release would have to be voted on or the competing editors would have to come to a unanimous agreement. A quarterly release would likely be sufficient for the pace of development.

It would be much easier to answer extraction questions with a good solid reference behind them. Plus, SWIM feels that many are being left behind or confused by the variety of teks and the variety of research on the forums. Some just can't dedicate enough time to a web forum to get the full picture, and if any progress is to be made in this field, a good solid platform must be provided.

Once you have created an account I have to active it, this is done to keep complete strangers away from the Wiki and to prevent hooligans to cripple our effort.

What does everyone think about calling it The Nexian DMT Handbook?

SWIM's starting to get the hang of this wiki business. Seems like the hard part of the coding's pretty much done with though.

For the plant section, SWIM was thinking that it should only cover the most commonly used and/or economical plants in great detail and link to a more complete list on a separate page. SWIM's even considering a brief rundown on the cultivation and harvesting of those plants (SWIM's looking to 'Coatl on this) and also the implications of purchasing from vendors.

SWIM will probably do most of his huasca research on the ayahuasca.com forums.

Each section should link the appropriate threads and/or forum topics for technical support.
