Psilocybe cyanescens?

Hey folks,
I understand that mushrooms are typically identified while fresh, but I was just wondering what dried P. cyanescens look like. I have never had cyanescens before. They are verified psilocybe, so I am not worried about lookalikes or anything like that. I was just hoping to verify the species out of curiosity. As soon as I saw the size, the wavy caps, and the skinny stems I kinda figured they were cyanescens, but is this what cyanescens typically look like?

And assuming they are cyanescens, how much would produce effects comparable to 2g high quality cubensis? Do they typically have higher, lower, or about the same alkaloid content by weight?

And one last question: do cyanescens usually have pretty much the same alkaloid makeup as cubensis (eg. psilocin, psilocybin, baeocystin, etc.)? Is there any noticeable difference in effects?

Sorry, lots of questions. But I have never lived in an area where cyanescens grow, so I am pretty excited to experience a new species of fungi! :want:

They are typically much stronger than cubes, I would talk about half or just under the dose of your usual cubensis dose for starters.

These look like I would expect cyanescens to look when dried. Try grinding some up and standing it in a minimal amount of water and wait a few minutes for a bluish colour change. Use just enough water to cover the shroom material.

They are a little different in personality from cubes, but most folks say they are a bit easier to deal with. I have had plenty of rocky rides with them, but this seems true in my experience. They are my all around favorite mushroom.
 
Interesting, Mr. Peabody. I am definitely a believer to some extent in the idea that different plants have different personalities or spirits or whatever you want to call it.

This is true, but I am 99% sure that they originated in Oregon. Although, this still leaves the possibility of them being cultivated in Oregon rather than harvested from the wild.

How would someone identify Copelandia cyanescens v. Psilocybe cyanescens, and what would be the difference in potency between the two?

EDIT: After doing a little bit of research, I found that the cap on C. cyanescens is typically convex, whereas the cap of P. cyanescens is flat. The caps on these look very flat and wavy...
 
C. cyanescens are very pale tall and skinny, but also very potent, some of the strongest mushrooms there is, some regard them as the strongest of all.

Maybe you mean azurescens which look similar looking to psilocybe cyanescens, but without the wavy cap. Those typically have a uniform domed cap with a raised bump in the middle. They can become concave if they are left to reach this stage after dropping spores however, and can even develop a slight wave which can confuse people. Usually the wave is very obvious in Psilocybe cyanescens though. If the whole batch has this pronounced wavy cap it's most likely Psilocybe cyansescens.
 
I think the confusion here is the op has Psilocybe Cyanescens.
Copelandia Cyanescens is synonymous with Panaeolus Cyanescens, which is sometimes labeled P. Cyanescens....

Ah, sorry. I should have thought of that before using "P. cyanescens" in reference to Psilocybe cyanescens.

I know how that goes my friend. Except I currently live in an area where, to my knowledge, the only psychoactive fungi to be found are Amanita muscaria. And even those aren't particularly common here. :cry:
