Psilocybin Potency Intensified as a Tea?

Ok so my friend has been micro dosing with cubensis and has been consuming them fresh from the substrate using the 90% water weight formula (5g fresh = .5g dry) and all has been well. Then my friend had dried out the mushrooms completely and had the same dosage .5g dry from the same flush and had a experience equivalent to that of 2-3g. The only difference was that he had them in a tea when they dried out, so I'm wondering if boiling water does something to alter this substance, or was the formula wrong? If this has already been answered please send the link, I just couldn't find it and don't like using google for these questions. 🧐

Ime cubensis shrooms are 91-93% water, so your number is quite accurate.
Tea kicks in quicker and peak is stronger.

Edit: there is also a hypothesis that hot water converts psilocybin into psilocin, so your body does not need to.

Do psilocybin and psilocin survive boiling (or alternatively is it the case that psilocybin converts to psilocin and the psilocin is preserved)?

İf the answer is yes to either of these, then mushrooms can actually be integrated into Ayahuasca or ruehuasca brews. Perhaps a certain harshness on the nervous system (ime) that arises from eating mushrooms with rue could be overcome this way too...

Yes, short term heat/boiling is ok, with long heat exposure I imagine the actives will degrade. One important thing about heat is that above 40°C the enzymes get denatured and the breakdown of actives is stopped, so if one wants to make tea for storage with fresh mushrooms it's best to boil it first. I once blended fresh mushrooms with honey and stored it in the freezer, I later thawed it and drank it and it was inactive.

Pretty sure you can make an Alcohol Extraction of dried and ground mushrooms.
If you want a strong psilocin extract do fresh mushrooms with high % ethanol. Friends have said some psilcon extracts done this way are more acid like, without subjectivity being a large factor.

If you want a psilocybin heavy extract do water. Plenty of mushrooms ectracts and tinctures go through a dual extract of both.
