You would expect area's like the amygdala to be relatively more active in hellish experiences, would you? That sounds plausible as well. As far as i know, psilocin does not have much dopaminergic effects in low to medium amounts, but it does have some effects when larger amounts are taken.I also wonder if bigger doses could have additional effects on other brain areas not affected by the doses used in the study we are discussing.This is not beyond the realms of possibility.
