We worked together on the drawing, then she did the first session of actual tattooing. Then two years passed... You know, life and all that. Then last night I spent six hours giving it the high technical polish... On hands, this can take a couple passes.
In most tattoo collaborations I've been involved in, both artists will take turns on drawing, making the stencil, along with every stage of the application process. The best collabs are the ones where the artists' efforts are the most mixed and integrated- that's how you get work that looks like it was done by a third artist, one who only exists when the two participants get together and meld minds.
