Not sure if this is the correct place to put this, but it seems appropriate.
I was using 25I-nbome recently. I can't give the dosage but I can say that it was sufficient to trip balls. I took 5 blotters sublingually. These were very weak blotters. I know this because I've taken just 1 before and felt only very mild alteration of my state. I mainly noticed the nootropic effects at the tail end of the trip, during the come down, and the next day. I noticed these effects during the comedown probably because I was reaching a balance of altered mental state and regained physical coordination.
Anyways, what I realized while tripping was that, though my physical coordination was decreased, my memory and foresight were greatly increased. I normally, like everyone to some extent (I presume), put things down in weird places and forget where I put them, walk out the door without bringing certain essential things, and just generally forget things sometimes. There were many opportunities for these things to happen during the tail end (>8 hours later) of my trip, but I found it easier to remember such things. I don't know how to describe this enhanced mental activity better than simply the ability to see into the past AND future more accurately and more precisely than usual and the ability to recognize behavioral patterns that tend to result in my making certain mistakes.
I went into work about 8 hours after dosing. Granted my work took a little longer than usual to do, but I found myself to be much more mindful of my actions during the day and, as the clumsy psychedelic effects subsided more and more, my work efficiency surpassed its normal level. I found myself thinking of ways to better interact with problem coworkers and make many aspects of my life and work more efficient and just plain easier. I realized that by being smarter about how I operate, I can learn from my mistakes quicker than usual and, by thinking ahead, make less mistakes to begin with.
One thing I did notice was that, while I could better remember everything that happened while I was tripping, memories made before the trip were somewhat hard to access. I would say that 25I allowed me to make mental connections much quicker at the cost of being temporarily unable to access some memories made previously in life. In other words, some fine-tuning was lost, but I was able to escape from the local optimum of my normal training and seek a more global optimum.
In the future, I would like to try taking 1 or 2 blotters before a busy day (which is just about any day for me) in order to experiment with what I perceive as enhanced optimization skills induced by 25I. I would guess that low doses of LSD would be equivalent since the nature of the experiences are so similar to me.
Another thing that I have realized is that this has not happened to me before while on this drug. It could be that I had a very intense psychedelic experience with the theme of optimization, and this inspired me to apply what I learned, during the trip, in my life henceforth. Does this make 25I (or any potentially life-changing psychedelic) nootropic? I don't know, but this seems like gray area to me.
