Pulled naptha evaporation before freezing question?

What happens if one does not evaporate half or so of the pulled naptha before freezing? What are the disadvantages? Longer feezing time?

If this is wrong, what could one do to fix it? Thaw, let it evaporate, and re-freeze?? All the pulls were contained in the same pyrex dish with a plastic freezer bag around it it, and then placed in the freezer at room temp without evaporating...

If you do not evap your naphtha before freezing it will not precipitate much dmt.
The dmt will still be trapped in the solvent & is retriveable, just evap until its ~75ml & freeze precip again. Be patient, do not use a fan, airflow will oxidize some dmt.
After freeze precip you can evap more & freeze again the remaining solvent, evaporate all the way, or reuse in another extraction, there will be a small amount of dmt still in the already freeze precipped naphtha.

I did my first extraction about 2 weeks ago and also forgot to fan evaporate before I froze it. I realized this after it had been in the freezer for 8+ hours. Ended up doing fan evap and then refreezing. Worth the wait to do things right!

Less solvent goes into the freezer -> less alkaloid left in solution after precipitating

I never evap, after all my pulls are done i find very little dmt in the naphtha that was used for all my pulls and the amount isnt worth the wasted time.

I agree with Anrchy, some people are way over thinking the naphtha process. Get your quantities in the right proportions in your soup and just recycle naphtha throughout your pull process, you never lose anything .

I'd like to see a solubility chart of DMT in petroleum ether at various temperatures. Based on your observation I'm guessing the solubility at your freezer temperature is very low.

I dont think it changes very drastically. Hot pulls didnt seem to grab a noticeable amount more compared to room temperature pulls. Actually my first 2 pulls done during my side by side comparison, the room temp pulls yielded more dmt after freeze precip than the hot pulls did.
