Purify tainted DMT?

Hey guys,

I have like a half gram of supposed pure DMT given as a gift from a friend. But there's something wrong with it... its white powderlike. When I vape it in my GVG it gives me this terrible itchy feeling in my lungs and I always cough it out and then nausea follows after the cough... and I get some coughing phlegm right after... what can I do to clean it? it seem like its not pure and theres a solvent that is causing this reaction right? how do I clean it do I dissolve it in alchohol and evap it? What do people mean by evap? how do I evap the alchohol do I just leave it out and wait till all the alchohol evaporates? any ideas and suggestions would be nice? or should i just throw it away and not smoke it anyomre? I have yet to get a good trip out of it or a break through... Ive tried multiple different tempratures even as slow as possible but it turns into this stubborn sticky liquid after it melts on my screen and doesnt evap and when i pull hard enough it hurts...

This is the reason why the Nexus promotes doing your own extractions. That way you know for SURE what is in your spice and what you're smoking.

DMT comes in many colors. From white to bright orange and perhaps even more as I'm a DMT newbie. The best way to possibly get rid of possible pollutants is by re-dissolving your DMT in a small quantity of solvent(naphtha, heptane, toluene, xylene) until it's all dissolved, decant it and then evaporate the remaining solvent. To do this you need a solvent that has NO pollutants in it. How do you find out if a solvent is clean? Simply take a clean piece of glass and pipette 10 or 20 drops on it and let it evaporate. Make sure to cover the piece of glass so no dust particles can land on it(obviously you don't want the cover to touch the glass).

^dont use a CD. Solvents warp CDs. Thats an old outdated method. Use a piece of glass.

To be honest, it very well could be that your DMT is impure, and it would be wise to be on the safe side and recrystallize. However, having said that, you should know that being white, powder-like, harsh on the lungs such that you cough it up, nausea and phlegm are all potentially "normal" or "acceptable" symptoms of having smoked pure DMT. Not only is white powdery DMT normal, it's quite preferable (especially that it's white) and is most likely more pure than other colored DMT. It's supposed to turn to liquid really fast, and from there it vaporizes into its vapor form. I'm curious to know how much "DMT" or whatever it is that you're loading up by weight. Nausea, coughing and phlegm are all signs of too much DMT or burnt DMT. So how much DMT are you loading up, how many hits are you taking, and what kind of lighter are you using?

IF there's solvent trapped in it, redissolve it in acetone. Another thing you might want to try is using less heat when vaporizing it.

Thanks a lot guys. Ive used both normal lighter/torch lighter I get the same results same itchy lungs.I will try to recrystallize it and give it a shot.
