Q21Q21 Tek 1 Questions

Hi there,

I am looking at the Q21Q21 Tek 1 and seems like very simple process. I would like to double check a few things with some questions I have.

1. At the step “Pulling with Non-Polar Solvent:”, d-limonene only gets added after the MHRB-lime mush has sitting for 6 to 8 hours correct?

2. At the step “Condensing/Tincture Making:” Under Step 1. When washing the cotton ball. Does one wash the vinegary cotton ball over the funnel to save the water or just wash the cotton ball over the sink and discard the water?

3. At the step “Condensing/Tincture Making:” Under Step 3. When one is removing liquid from the pot and then filtering through a cotton ball, does that liquid go back into the pot or to separate container? (Not sure about this part)

4. Under Evaporation part. Would taking a flat glass coaster, putting a few drops on it from the tincture and letting it evaporate for a few hours be enough time before transferring it to a electric vaporizer?

Always happy to see interest in the less popular Tek 1.

I think I can answer your question, I'll give it a try.

1:
It would be more recommended to add the d-limonene after 6-8 hours as it would leech many of the plant oils over such a long time with the bark mush and these could get carried through to the end product in small amounts. Pulling for about 40 minutes only is recommended.

2:
Let me expand the steps to clarify:
-stick a cotton ball into the stem of a funnel
-pour the vinegar through the cotton ball and funnel into a pot to filter any particulates from it.
-Add 30-50ml through the cotton ball and funnel into the pot to flush out any remaining vinegar in the cotton ball (that vinegar contains some DMT)

3:
The liquid goes back into the pot, as you evaporate the DMT-containing-vinegar there are some non-DMT things that precipitate out that need to be filtered in this step.

4:This could work. I've never personally use an electric vaporizer, but what you describe will leave you with a perfectly smokable product that can be scraped up with a razor. If you can work with a honey-like goo in the vaporizer then you should be good to go.

Its pleasure to be talking to person who wrote this trek.

This trek interested me because of the non toxic stuff used such as d-limonene and lime. I spent a lot of time reading other treks but this one most resonated with me.

I see you made recent word changes on the guide for best clarity. Which is great!

My response to your answers:

1. That is good to know. I was correct about letting the bark sit for 6-8 hours before adding d-limonene for the first pull.... Also thanks for mentioning that the pulling time is for about 40 minutes... Glad I double checked by asking the question

2. Perfect answer! I understand now what is said. I figured there was little DMT in the cotton ball left. That makes sense to flush out the rest of the remaining vinegary cotton ball back into the pot.

3. Nice. Got it. The liquid goes back into the pot... Also Thanks for explaining the purpose for filtering in this step.

4. That is good to hear about letting it evaporate on flat glass for couple hours should do the trick in till it turns to goo. Then scaping it with a razor......I understand everyone has their own devices and things they prefer to use. I think I now understand what would best handle the goo without the need for dry herbs like other devices.
