Swim has been playing around with the Q21Q21 tek and is very pleased with it. She has been running into one problem with her spice coming out as goo after evaporation. She tried to rexl and got the same thing , goo. SO she tried to freeze precip the spice and got spice but after it dried it converted to goo.

SWIM suspects possible oxide to blame. SWIM had her main ingredient for about 2-3 months before tryin to pull spice. If this is the case and she has been dealing with an oxide could she take an amount of Zn powder and mix it in with her acidification step to convert oxide back?

Once the crystals are dry from freeze precip they should remain solid. My guess might be that they're not fully dry from the naptha. How are you going about drying them?

SWIM did an experiment and took some of the freeze precip spice and placed it on a plate with a small amount of naptha, she than took a hair dryer and dried it out at this point she got goo. As she continued to try and dry it the goo remained. It was only after she spread it around that the goo solidified. This would be a success however she strives for the nice crystals, but sadly she has not been able to get these for the last three times ={

Fact- SWIM was able to use the Q21Q21 tek with success the first 2 times then after taht she gets an increasing amount of goo each time.

Since I know it is going to be said, yes I understand that the solidified mass can be consumed to the same end. This is not the form in which SWIM prefers her spice, she likes nice crystal structures, you know the ones I'm talking about , the pretty fan like structures that spice makes.... oh when SWIM sees those.... it makes her heart sing.

Just a side note, back to the original question. If SWIM chose to put Zn into the acidification step of this process would this help convert DMT oxide back to DMT? If swim were using say 100g MHRB how much Zn should she put into the acidification step?

If you put the crystals in naptha and try to blow dry them, they will surely melt way before the naptha can evaporate. By drying them, you should drain off the naptha, and put the container upside down so any excess naptha runs off. If you try to evaporate the naptha, they will melt. They melt very quickly even at room temperature when touching naptha.

Yeah check the FAQ, when retrieving crystals from freeze precip, better pour out naphtha, close it and turn it upside down , and stick in the freezer again for more hours, so most remaining naphtha drops off the crystals.

If it crystallized and then melted, it cant be all n-oxide because n-oxide wouldnt be crystals in the first place. Also it shouldnt have been pulled into naphtha. My guess is maybe plant oils or small amounts of n-oxide, but mostly that its melting dmt because you havent done the upside-down-trick. Even pure DMT can stay as an oil depending how its retrieved from solvent, specially if there are small traces in it that are trapped under the oil, so scrapping/spreading the oil should slowly harden it up.

I guess I would attempt another re-x and freezing and doing the upside down thing. Dont throw anything away before you're finished!

If you want to try the zinc thing, I would suggest doing with half your product only so that you can compare and see if theres a difference. I dont know how much zinc but just add excess.. If you have enough, maybe add 1:1 zinc:expected dmt quantity, or more zinc.. And remember to filter before adding base. I think side-by-side would be interesting information for the community but otherwise just do the re-x thing and the right freeze precip retrieval and you should be good

Ok so the end result was SWIM doing a re-xl, this produced the pretty crystals that SWIM desired with some goo. Instead of scraping every thing SWIM figured she would let the batch sit on a warm surface with a fan blowing on it and see what happens... A day later she went back to check on it and most all of the spice goo had produced xls.
You might say "duh" but the first 2 times SWIM used this tek she didnt get any goo at all.

Glad to hear that you like the tek.

Personally what I believe is only 2 ways:
1. DMT-in-naptha to crystals (via freezer)
2. From (yellow/brown) crystals ---> Re-Xtalize

All other ways are usually very low yielding and much more less rewarding for the work necessary. (In my experience)
In my opinion you should just dissolve the goo in vinegar (the portion that will dissolve, should be most/all) then evaporate it down to a yellow to yellow/brown few millilitres and evaporate it on some herb (or with a spoon like I do) and then try for crystals on the next extraction.

Personally I've done the crystal thing, I've appreciated their beauty and had them melt and turn yellow and get spilled all over the floor followed by massive anger and profanity.
Yes they are pretty but are they worth the loss of yield, lack of jimjam/jungle effects?

I no longer have any crystals but rather 3 bottles:
1: Yellowish liquid, vinegar and white DMT @ 6mg/drop
2: Reddish orange liquid, vinegar and Jimjam DMT @ 4mg/drop
3: Reddish brown liquid, vinegar and Jungle DMT @ 4.5mg/drop
and they are kept in a cool closet brought out, evaporated for myself, my friends and the many people I have introduced to the DMT experience. I show them pictures of DMT crystals and they say cool but I've never had someone say: That would have been way better if I was smoking those crystals.

Just my thoughts. :D

Nope, when the vinegar is all evaporated it doesn't even taste like vinegar when smoked (when you are less anal about it the first toke can have a vinegar-y quality, mind you) and I honestly would be surprised if anyone could tell the difference between fully-evaporated acetates and freebase side by side.
