Q21q21 white fluff with lye?

Would it be possible to do this tek substituting the lime for lye? The tek says to follow it to a tt.but I'm wondering if anyone has tried using lye instead oflim

I'm pressed for cash and also don't even know what kind or brand oflime to get even I could afford it so I'm thinking of trying with lye.

Is the gardening lime what you want or the food grade pickling stuff the right one?

Food grade pickling lime is what you want. Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime works wonderfully (pure calcium hydroxide)! Found in canning sections of stores usually (this is in the US though so I guess it depends on where you are. However, you can find it on amazon for pretty cheap). The lime is more suited for dry teks like Q21's vs lye for wet teks such as Cyb's teks.

I'm sure it could be achieved one way or another, but I have not attempted it. Edit: It would turn into a typical wet tek though. Also, Q21 points out that it will not work with lye in the WIKI.
