Hello so my GVG is on the way and now it is time to put some cash and buy good lighter. I heard Arc turboflame is the way to go so im searching for one but the prices are bit confusing. On some sites you can find it for 30$ or even less and same goes with ebay. I thought this is the regular price for it by i see that on ebay everyone are buing one for 92$ (!). That's a lot more then i expected so just want to ask how much did you pay for yours ad is it good choice to buy this 30$ ones or its just fake crap?

No idea about fakes there...

I bought a grenade jet lighter like this years ago for on eBay for $2 and it works perfectly. Was going to invest in an expensive one later but never had reason to. There's loads of brands with the same design, it's been copied all over the place.

Torch lighters are in my experience all crap if you pay less than 10$ for them.

I had so many that broke its incredible. And the two torch lighters i have that cost more than 10$ work fine since years.

u use it with JeeVeeJee? Nice one is available in my country so probably will test it as it is much cheaper
I use it on a bubbler, but I bring the flame in from a long way away slowly until the bowl lights all at once. 😉

Looks a bit old now... but it is for the princely sum of $2. Seeing it in a pic I might have to lay out the green for another one. :d

I guess it's a bit of a luck of the draw when buying cheap stuff like this though.

Maybe the cheap ones are crap, but in my experience, they are crap that work. I've gone through three of the Zico knockoffs of the Arc in the last decade. i broke one of them. The other one went bad. My third one is probably 6 years old and never fails me. I always use good butane and I have had few problems.

As a side note, I still haven't spent half as much as a real Arc would cost me.

I seen RunningBear and someone else recommend the Zico T-38 orininal torch lighter. It honestly has the perfect flame for the GVG. Its also a great price and feels heavy duty.

Am curious if the torch lighters work better than a candle flame lighter. I have never tried a torch lighter and have never had any issues with the candle flame lighters. Does it make a difference?

yes it does make a difference dmnStr8, even a good or bad torch lighter makes difference, even tho 0ne(1) can make it work with a normal lighter too like we never even driven a car with power assisted steering.

a bad torch lighter is 0ne(1) where the flame goes weak/out if you hold it upside down. most of the arc shaped lighters don't do that.

In freezing temperatures torch lighters dont work for some reason, while normal bic lighters work just fine.

The zico t 38 has a weak spot, and that is it's weight, it is very heavy, like a small p*stol.
If it falls down from some height (this happened here) and by chance, it falls onto the ignition switch, that can break, because thats the lighters most vulnerable spot where all the inside parts are just flimsy plastics, and these things are often not interchangable with other lighters ignition thingies.

we purr chased some lighters which worked for years until the battery was dead, and then.... we purr chased the same lighter, same model, same company and after a few days the switch becomes stuck and hard, no click, no flash......so this can also happen, you get a moonday 0ne(1)

Thx to a group of rook birnds, we learn about various click, and we think we are now able to tell a quality click from flimsy moon day click, all we can say is, a quality click should sound bright and crisp and not hollow or deep and woody in any way, if that makes any sense.

thank you for all the answers im still searching for best choice in my region. I went through all the cheap ones but it seems they are not reliable. Zico T- 38 lighters are out of reach as i would have to pay a lot for shipping (it would be double of price). Onthe other hand other models of Zico are very cheap. Anyone has experience with those?
