Question about heptane...

I am curious as to where i can buy Heptane in the UK. If anyone can help i'd very much appreciate it. I need it for a cleaner recrystallization. Thanks!

Only place I know of where you can get heptane commercially is online from the states. I didn't shop around too much but if you google "bestine" that's all heptane there. It's sold for art supplies.

I just alter local solvents with acetone.

I found heptane online in the UK, but it is HPLC grade. Is that ok to use?

That's fine to use, but do they deal with private individuals? I'm guessing no because on the registration form the space marked "company" is mandatory.

I wouldn't worry about it as it's not all that necassary. You can get your whites whiter than white with the leading high street brand. You'd pass the daz doorstep challenge anyways.

Although if you ask me, dirty spice is good spice. The more oils in the crystals the less sterile the experience.
For some reason with pure spice I have trouble remembering experiences.
