Question About Spice Quality for Lazyman's tek

First, I just want to say I'm not looking for a smokeable product, just something that is a lot smaller than mimosa tea, and isn't toxic of course, and something easy, the less steps the better so as less chance I'll screw up the tek.

As I understand it, all you do in lazyman's tek is remove the layer of naptha and let it evaporate at room temperature in a glass pan. Does this leaves behind dmt? But what kind of dmt is it? Is it crystal? Pure? DMT acetate? I have read that this will not be a pure dmt. When they say it is impure, does that mean the impurities are chemical impurities like naptha or lye? Or just some plant fats? I have no problem with a little extra plant material.

Also, I have read that some people instead of evaporating the naptha, they freeze the naptha in a jar and then pour out the naptha after crystals form on the side. Is this superior quality dmt than just evaporating the naptha? Thanks.

As long as you didn't take any gunk with your naptha pulls, there should be no lye impurities. Also you could wash with ammonia like the tek calls for, or re-x what you have and skip the ammonia. Swim has done Nomans tek, and yieled yellow spice. Swim smoked and took orally.

Oh yeah, and freeze precip will get you crystals faster, but maybe not as big as the could be from a slow evap. So thats up to you. Good luck.

Not necessarily. A hairdryer on "high" may evaporate 100 ml of heptane over an hour or less. Freeze precip takes at least 4-6 hours.

Slow room temp/fridge/freezer precip will produce bigger chrystals if done over 24 hours or more. Also, if done properly, freeze precip produces much cleaner spice, often quite smokeable without further cleaning.

Thanks. I believe Noman's tek has been updated and says to NOT do the ammonia wash. Just what is that wash supposed to be washing away btw? So that yellow spice you yielded, that means it included "jungle spice" right? I'm not really sure the difference between noman's and lazyman's tek. They seem to be the same in that they both use lye and naptha, except in noman's tek he talks of freezing the naptha, while lazyman's tek it just says evaporate the naptha. Also there is a note about further washing in noman's tek, but revised to say don't use amonia. Am I missing something else between the two teks?

Just to make sure, when you say "cleaner spice", you mean it has less PLANT impurities, not chemical impurities, like lye or naphtha, right?

Freeze-preciped spice will have less impurities of every kind, because during evaporation whatever impurities are in solvent will end up in spice. With careful separation of naphta from the aqueous mhrb solution SWIM never had any problems with lye. Once the precipped spice is filtered from naphta there is only a small residue of naphta left. This residue evaporates quickly and completely under a gentle flow of air.
