Question regarding mushy product following naptha evaporation

Hello,

SWIM did Noman's DMT for the Masses tek as posted on Erowid, up to the point where she had DMT in solution in VM+P naptha. She used pure sodium hydroxide to extract from MHRB, and naptha to extract the DMT from the solution.

She then evaporated the naptha in a pyrex dish placed in a hot water bath.

When nothing was left but a small puddle of thick, yellow oil, she placed the dish in a safe, dark place to let it dry.

about 12 hours later, crystals had formed - a thin layer of mostly white crystals on the bottom of the dish, plus two large chunks of less defined, mushy orange crystals. Both substances were chopped into smaller pieces with a straight razor, to increase the surface area and encourage evaporation.

The next day, it was still mushy. It did not smell of naptha, and did smell strongly of DMT.

Her question is this - why is it still mushy/waxy? She wonders if it is mushy due to some leftover residue from the naptha, or if that is the natural state of a naptha free DMT product. Also, how can she know if the white crystals also DMT or is it some other substance?

Should she just wait a few days to see if it improves? Should she wash it with ammonia or some other solvent? Should she just smoke it?

It's because STB teks (like mine) use enough lye to dissolve a great deal of the plant material which is how they get around the acid cook.
This also means that a lot of gunk becomes soluable in the NP which is why a freeze precip with recrystalization is recommended when using an STB tek.
Just dissolve your goo in as little naptha as possible and put it in the fridge for a few hours and then the freezer.

so the only successful way to precipitate crystals after preforming an stb would be a freeze.
hands down this is my school of thought.
evap = long time,,,ime, and leaves a mess, also ime.

dont evaporate.
