Quick-drying enhanced leaf w/ heat

Migrated topic.

SWIM has a mix of leaves soaking in isopropyl alcohol that contains (he hopes) about 1-2 grams of DMT. He is waiting for the IPA to dry off so he can smoke it - and is so excited he wants to evaporate it quicker! Would it be alright to put the glass bowl containing the soaking leaves into a hot water bath?

SWIM can't think of any problems this might cause - except maybe slightly more n-oxide formation - but he's not really concerned with that. He's mostly just worried b/c it's his first DMT extraction ever & he is paranoid about messing it up at the very end!

just dont heat anything over 50 celcius..

but yeah I would NOT recommmend a hot water bath because there will be too much water in the air, and IPA pulls water from the air, which means it will attract water so it will taken longer to evap, specially at the end..

Better if you have some dry (no fire!) way of warming it up to under 50 celcius, like an electric hot plate or whatever, and/or as said above just put a fan turned towards it

OK.. so... SWIM went ahead with the hot water bath last night in his impatience... it got rid of most of the iso overnight & he hopes it did not mess anything up...

Now he has a dish full of leaves that look just a little bit wet, and covered with a sticky residue (i.e., when he stirs the leaves around with his finger, some leaves will stick to it). There is also some sticky yellow residue around the sides of the glass dish.

He has a fan pointed at the leaves now... how should he proceed? Give the fan 2-3 hours to work it's magic and then give the leaves a try?

Use heptane or acetone, heptane takes 45 minutes tops for a 1:1 enhanced leaf.

Heat degrades spice...so you probably lost a bit of spice to your hot water bath...impatience is not rewarded when dealing with Spice or any entheogen for that matter.

I worry that your impatience might end you up in a bad way if you continue to deal with spice, especially if you deal with Aya....

Now it's been over 24 hours and the enhanced leaves are just sticky. Like, if they are scraped up with a spoon, some sticks to the metal. There is also an orange-yellow sticky residue all around the base of the glass it was dried in - is this all good stuff that should be saved?

Assuming the spice even works, is there anything I can do to get myself ready for my first trip? SWIM had a so-so experience last night with a relatively large dose of San Pedro... It was real nice at parts but SWIM is re-evaluating his approach to psychedelics right now & doesn't want to try spice until he's in the right frame of mind.

Can someone at least tell me if it's supposed to be sticky? I just do not want to inhale anything bad. I have not seem this question addressed in other threads on changa...

I just tried 40 mg. I did not vaporize all of it but I got 1 pretty good hit. It tasted funny and did something, although definitely not a breakthrough.

Definitely got CEV's off of 50 mg. Are the vapors supposed to taste like plastic?

Is it normal to get nauseous afterwards? Just thinking about that taste makes me feel kinda sick :(

If SWIY is feeling nauseous it will probably be down to the leaf SWIY used to make the chenga. What leaf did SWIY use?

As for the plastic taste, what is SWIY's bong made out of (if you use a bong)?
If SWIY has a bong made from a plastic bottle, plastic fumes are given off when the hot vapours makes contact with the sides of the plastic bottle. This could be a reason for the Plastic tasting vapour.:(

Also sounds like good spice, CEVS of 50mg Chenga is good. Was it a 1:1 ration of spice to leaf?

Passionflower, damiana, and peppermint

Glass vaporgenie, with an inert stainless steel screen...

Could the bad taste maybe be indicative of sodium carbonate leftover from freebasing?
