recrystalization using seeds minimal loss ??

So iv read people using white dmt crystals as seeds to grow crystals but does it have to be re x dmt or crystal as apposed to powder or does it mean how white dmt powder had crystal fromation before it was scraped or do you use the frost precipitated formed crystals from the dish ?? Or can U use powder also what about actually using a seed from a plant?? Does the more you heat the solvent the more loss as apposed to cooler heptane re x teks how can you re x and save most yield possible??
