regarding gender differentiation

Migrated topic.

Gender determination depends on more than an allele on the 23rd chromosome pair including genetic loci on other than the X and Y chromosomes.AFAIK, there have been no consistent genetic anomalies found in those with 'Gender Identity Disorders' and I cannot envision how a sex change made surgically and with hormones would induce this as an inherited trait-assuming that those thus affected bother to procreate.

this is a counter-argument to the premise that gender determination is a conscious attribute

^^Agreed! But gender determination can be considered at several levels, including phenotype, genotype, cultural and I suppose environmental too.I think these factors will have a bearing on whether or not 'sir' is the term used to describe them.

I think taking a reductionist view of gender is going to create unsatisfactory understanding of gender in the same way taking a reductionist view of the brain leads to gaps in translating the conscious experience.

Don't know what to put that hasn't been said, but i know we are all females and in the last trimester is when we grow our male organs.

Cancer is determined by an allele on the 17th chromosome pair, a round of chemo change does not change that fact.

1. Is it possible with current technology to change/remove/whateveryoudoinmedicalscience one of these faulty chromosones in a) the fetus and b) a developed human throughout the entire body?

2. In theory, would changes start happening to the body of a developed human if these chromosones were modified, or would it be too late?

When i was in highschool, a teacher told me that smoking marihuana can make a man grow breasts. Now we all know that what our teachers tell us at school is beyond any doubt the absolute truth and that we must never question their authority, nor astray from the path set out for us by those who know best....so it´s logical to assume that THC has an unknown but yet very profound effect on this allele...Interesting stuff benz.

"Gender" is a social construct... you are discussing "sex".

If we have the male gene, have female sexual organs, and are still called male, we would be being categorized based on a gene which has no longer provides outward physical markers.

Would that mean we should be categorized based on genes that aren't being expressed, but which we do possess? o.O

Gender rather than being compared to say a straight line with female on one side and male on the other is more like a circle with masculinity, femininity and biological sexes at opposing polaritys. Just because you have the sex organs of a particular biological sex you can still fall anywere in this circle of masculine and feminine attributes with the most drastic opposition to there biological sex being what you would call trans. In which case I've heard that in India they categorize people within five different genders. There are a lot of sociological hangups in regard to gender, It's what the television taught us so I can't really blame.anyone.for being misinformed but even still television and life in general I think is headed more in the direction of ambiguity as you see biological male and female and people of all gender sharing more and more attributes. I consider myself ambiguous, I don't think I'm anymore masculine than feminine, I like to think I'm doing away with gender norms personally. Just look at how much gender norms have changed in the past 60 years.

Not to mention many trans people are found have extra chromosomes, I think hormones play a big role in gender also.

Gender is an animal trait that we humans use to define our identity. Some individuals do not identify with their given gender, and I don't see anything wrong with that. People change how they define themselves all the time.

Am I doing this rite?

lol, yes. But the real question is if an asian could pass as a latino? Yes, but aborigine as caucasian, that would be a stretch. Not counting the mixing of races, or the genetic drift from our origins. Race isn't as simple as it seems it would be.

Yep, men have nipples because of this. Otherwise we wouldn't, and it might be a little creepy.

Smoking marijuana can cause enlargement of the breasts glandular tissue and this doesnt appear to have anything to do with THC/CBD/CBN directly; smoking it produces phenolic compounds which have disruptive effects on the normal oestrogenic receptor function.
