Removing fine particles of bark sludge FAST!

After I filter I have to let the solution sit for at least 2-3 days before the sludge sinks to the bottom, even then there is still lot's more left and what's at the bottom it is irretrievable and I have to break the glass jar to remove the block of acidified sludge which I assume doesn't contain much spice left in it because it doesn't have much acidified water left in it.

However, when I basify the solution before letting it sit for the 2-3 days... the sludge globs together instantly and forms a goop that is a black, thick gloppy and gooey mess and smells horrid!

Could I filter the basified water and sludge to remove the waxy globby black dough then run fresh water over it to remove the excess basified water & spice?

I ask because freebase is insoluble in water but people don't have trouble doing STB teks on the gloppy goopy mess.

So will basified solution make spice stick in to that sludge and not let fresh water retrieve it?

Instead of letting it settle, why not pass it through a series of filters (old tshirt, then a heavy dish cloth and finally a couple coffee filters will work if you don't have lab filtration gear).

If it's already stuck and you need you get it out, try a bit of hot water and a good shake. Then filter.

Thanks, will try dish cloth even though that may take quite a while (drip, drip)

I will try hot water too, but I seriously mean rock solid like cement!

What do you think about my basifying method?

It's probably rock hard because the fats have been allowed to settle and congeal. Heat will help this.

I'm a bit confused by your method. In your first post you say after you filter, you have to wait for the sludge to settle. What did you filter out?

Don't base the solution before you filter. If you do, a lot of your freebase DMT will stay with the jnk you filter out.

Can you please explain your method a little better. You don't have to go into great detail, just the gist of it (ie mine for ACRB is acid soak overnight, simmer the acid for 2-3 hours, filter out the plant matter, base with NaOH, allow 2 hours under base with regular mixing, pull with warm naphtha, freeze precip/evap)

Sorry to ask more questions, but I think I'm missing something important.
