Rescued this little guy the other day as he was marching along a dirt road really slowly, I'm almost certain if I hadn't come across him he surely would have been squished... I have always had a deep love and fascination with chameleons and I havent seen one in years, sadly they are becoming a rare sight so i thought it would be lovely to share this amazing encounter with you guys. ♥

Gorgeous panther chameleon :) take good care of him, their husbandry is very specific, but I guess you know that already ;-)

neither of us would take a wild animal home (its wrong on so many levels)- it was placed in the bushes nearby with minimal handling.
as you can see in the pic - it didnt even have time to stress.
i didnt know ppl kept em as pets - but i sure as hell wouldnt like it if i got plucked from my house and kept in a tank by some massive chameleon.

you've just been promoted to expert chameleon rescuer, congrats!!!
Unfortunately, I'm red-green color blind.
So... my chances of spotting a chamaleon [even at the zoo] have always been slim to none.
:x

Wow guys thank you so very much for all your lovely and kind words, the little guy was walking across the road and i couldn’t not help him... I just gently picked him up off the road, took two really quick pictures of him as we didnt want him to get stressed or scared and then we placed him back into his natural habitat. I love chameleons and respect them far too much to keep one captive; they are so rare at the moment I haven’t seen one in years. Check out these two pages as they are highly informative...
