Thats the next book to read after I've finished the Alexander Beiner book.

Yeah I wanted to ask this too, since I read Left In The Dark like a few months ago.Has the book been revised significantly since left in the dark? I was rereading left in the dark last year but maybe I’m missing out on new stuff?
Agreed! What have your experiences been like there? This is very interesting
The places with big boulders or rocks beneath the trees are the best outdoor spots for tripping imo. Very specific geomantic energy there.

It's a slightly updated version but essentially the same book. From what I've read, Inner Traditions acquired the rights to Left In The Dark in 2014-ish and renamed it to make it their own. I saw that image on the link to his old site that explains the books history.Yeah I wanted to ask this too, since I read Left In The Dark like a few months ago.

My most important psychedelic experiences were at such places.Agreed! What have your experiences been like there?
which I got the chance to observe in very detail, deconstructed into basic components.Wow, that must have been fascinating to experience. Is it some form of granite rock, or a known ancient site?My most important psychedelic experiences were at such places.
The best example is my formative LSD experience, during which I've felt the characteristic lysergamide Oneness or Nonduality for the first time. It had a form of strong white light, which existed independently and unconditionally.
Then it transformed into colourful bubbles of energy, strongly pregnant with possibilities, but still without separation into duality. At that phase, I started again to be and looked around but there were just some kind of energetic fields.
It was dificult to recognize what is around me, but then one chunk of colourful energy materialized into flying bumblebee which flied close to my head, another vertically moving chunks evaded identification for short period of time (I remember that I said to confused myself that this is strange and it definitely must mean something) but then I was able to understand that these are raindrops. It really started to rain, but fortunately, it was very mild and short rain as I was not able to move or cover myself or do anything practical to protect my body.
But it still provided some grounding into physical reality and I finally found out that I am laying on the ground inside some ant colony and the ants are biting me. Somehow I climbed on nearby rock boulder, but it was more like partially materialized energy, visible waves moved on the surface of the rock originating from the spots where I was touching it. It really resembled water. I played with these waves with lot of awe and childlike joy.
After that, my trip continued in more normal way, eventhough I remember that to got to my backpack which was some 50m away I had to endure very eventful and surprising journey. At least I know that to reach some predefined spot by walking needs very complex mental and physical processeswhich I got the chance to observe in very detail, deconstructed into basic components.
All this was surprisingly strong effect for a dose I did that day.
Decades later, this exact place has been officially declared Nature Protected Area in a very unusual way. I see it as a sign.
I visit the place regularly to commemorate my experience.
I've been to some stunning petroglyph limestone sites, but never had any experiences there as it was quite public. There was even some intriguing depiction of what looked like chakras along the spine of a 'person', outlined by cracks and circles in the rock - and this was in in the far west, not the east. The rock is just some limestone type and no ancient activity is known at that location.
My opinion is that different places on Earth surface have different genius loci energy, which can be perceived by humans. Very top of the hill is different than bottom of the valley, oak forrest is different than pine forrest, slope, relative elevation, exposition to sun or wind, local herbs, type of soil and many other factors make a difference. For example such rock formations are often inhabited by foxes as there are some small caves/holes which they like.
My explanation of that experience is that under influence of LSD I was able to perceive energetic fields directly, and it was even potentiated by the rocky spot where it happened.
The dose I can not tell, it was just one blotter (called Fat Cat or something like that), rumored to be strong. Definitely stronger than other blotters I had at that period.
