Can anyone tell me if leaving the Cactus-P.Lime mix
settle for 24 hr before using NPS (limonene) , the best way to go ?

does it help yields?

usually a friend just leaves it 3 - 4 hr before pouring the limo;
after 4 - 5 NPS Pulls
gets 1.2g -1.8 sometimes even 2 g of unclean orange mesc-alkaloids ,
based on various cactus powder sources .

It doesn't make much of a difference. It's all time. The time you spent waiting 24 hrs could be spent doing another pull. The biggest tip I can give you is keep your ph of the acid water around 7. (measure acid water after mixing with limo.) You can pull nearly white pretty crystals.

Salt the limo with a mixture of white vinegar and water. (many prefer pure acetic acid) 4 parts water 1 part vinegar. Add this to the limonene, stir and take a pH reading of the water that separates. Once it balances at 7, decant and evaporate. Do this for every pull, and you won't get goo....you'll get crystals.

Just Before going to bed a friend got some limo into a regular

(100 g cactus powder/ 25g p.lime mix/300mlwater) mix

Looking at his limo gallon it looked almost empty , so he just poured all of it believing it was less than 350 ml .

However it was around 600 ml limo .

It was like 3 AM so he just left it soaking for the night .

Should he just mix a fresh 100 g cactus /lime... and pour the extra 300 ml there .

Kinda afraid that if he washes the extra 300 ml limo with some vinegar the limo's ph will drop and affect the NPS pull of a fresh batch of cactus mix .

cleaning the limo with some NaOH after salting perhaps ?

or just use the extra 300 ml of this first pull limo ( unsalted ) on a fresh 100g cactus /lime... mix , despite the limo being saturated ?

limonene is very expensive were he lives .

Don't worry about using too much limonene. After your first separation, you can remove a few hundred mls. Or add more lime and cacti if you want to do a double batch. Swim recommends adding the limo back to the cacti between each pull. This will boost the ph back up, so you can salt with more acid water.

Hey Cyan , so your post on those 3 pulls u did with 25 ml vinegar + 20 ml water .



on that third pull that gave almost clear crystals

did that pull had lots of sodium bicarbonate impurities or was just clean .

and was that 3 times salting with 25+20 mix ? or just once

evap. at room temp right ?

I don't recommend using sodium bicarbonate to raise the pH. It ends up in the final product. It took me a minute to realize adding more lime to the cacti sludge (and adding the limo back to the sludge) between pulls was a more effective way of raising the pH. Following this practice has yielded 1-1.5% Btw I salt 3-5 times and evap in a food dehydrator at 120F.

Has anyone encountered a situation where the mix of dry cactus with water is unmanageably THICK and elastic? As in, chewing gum consistency. Despite following instructions, my friend is not even able to get the lime to mix into the huge wad of snot. Is this a matter of the cactus chosen (excessive fats?), and is there any way to deal with it?

It usually means there was too much water added. It should be very dry before adding limonene. For 100 grams of cactus, 200 ml of water is sufficient.

A friend has done several RCs this way , but never

mescaline tea ,resin , hcl or raw m. acetate
