Salvinorin A water colloid!

I recently did a cold acetone extraction on about 10 grams crushed salvia leaf, mixed the acetone with about 2 grams of activated carbon which worked very nicely taking out nearly all of the chlorophyll, the acetone was then filtered and evaporated until the salvinorin started to fall out of solution, then for some stupid reason, water was added and now i have a very fine suspension of salvinorin A! any ideas as to how i can make the salvinorin crystallize out? maybe freeze it...

I don't think freezing the water will improve the situation. Salvinorin is slightly soluble in water... From 10g leaf you may have around 20-30mg of salvinorin. That amount would be fully soluble in around 1 L water. So depending on how much water was added, the temperature and whether it has been stirred or not, you have some of the salvinorin in solution and the rest in suspension.

Allowing the water to evaporate in a dark place sounds like a slow option. If some of the salvinorin is actually in suspension, you can filter with a coffee filter to recover some of it, and then evap the rest in a dark, ventilated place to recover the dissolved salvinorin.

Or if you were aiming for an extract, you can soak there the leaf right away... but it will take ages to evap the water.

Anyone has other ideas?

hmm its in about 10mL of water, i sat the container its in in a hot water bath which removed any remaining acetone in hopes that it would lower the solubility to the point where the salvinorin crystals would just drop out.

I am afraid that the salvinorin crystals will be to fine for a coffee filter to catch, and even if it does, how will I remove the tiny amount from the filter paper?

I believe waiting for the water to evaporate will be the best choice as you said :l

OK, the water evaporated and i redissolved the rough crystals in 2 ml of acetone so that i could form some nice crystals. The leaves(15 grams) had already had two cold acetone extractions(5 min each time) so i wasn't expecting much salvinorin A at all, this pull was mainly to test my homemade activated carbon to see if it would remove the chlorophyll, which i was happy to find it did! still some impurities- tannins i think but please correct me if I'm wrong.
