"what freaks me out most about weed, is my heart POUNDS. i know it speeds up on dmt, but do you really notice it?"
I would get that too. I would feel my pulse all the way to the tip of my fingers, almost like a panic attack. Not good. On DMT, I don't feel my heart. I'm sure it speeds up, especially at first, but I would attribute that to the "excitement" of entering another world. Maybe that's wrong, maybe it's a direct physiological effect, but either way, I've never felt overwhelmed by my own heart as has happened with weed or during a panic attack.
"what makes my trip bad on psychedelics is not that the visuals are overwhelming, its me. i get extremely philosophical and negative."
Again, I can totally relate, and for me, DMT doesn't do that. It doesn't change the thought pattern. If you're normally like that, then you'll be like that, and you might actually learn to be less like that, as I have a bit. DMT is really humbling to me. There's no way your ego can puff up and try to fight it as my ego tries to do with weed. You kinda have to kneel down on the inside.
"is the body high overwhelming for anyone? weed is for me, its like im underwater, and feel like my body is less there, and slowmotion. i imagine thats what death is like."
Yes. Especially when the trip comes on. As someone said somewhere, it's like drowning and being electrocuted at the same time. But once you go past that point, once the pipe has been taken away and you're laying back and closing your eyes, then you can meditate beyond it, forget your body and flow away. But yes, the body high is very strange. The first time I did DMT, I kept my eyes open and was trying to stay in the world. I felt as though there were waves of liquid electricity flowing under my skin. It was not comfortable, but not threatening either, too weird to be threatening.
"also, does the duration really matter, i mean, cant the ten minutes feel like hours, days?"
Well, yes, they can feel much longer, and you may loose your sense of time, but I alway retain the memory that I've done DMT, so "ten minutes" can be a mantra of sorts, to remind you that reality is coming back. That being said, the best way out is through. Pay attention to the visuals, flow with them, let it come, you'll be fine.
