I hear a lot about self-healing through the use of psychoactives and I back this 100%

My question, can one be physically healed rather than just mentally using psychedelics? I have horrible back problems and I'm just curious to know if anybody has tried a physical heal on themselves. I had the idea because it is said that acupuncture allows energy to flow uniformly through the body to induce good physical health.
 
Perhaps if the psychoactive is Vicodin. :T

Seriously though, psychedelics allow you to heal on levels other than the physical one. Since the pain is manifesting on the physical realm, I would not think that you could magically cure these pains with psychedelic use.

I'm sure there are various techniques (e.g. acupuncture, hatha yoga) that you COULD use with a great deal of success though.
 
There is alot of evidence that certain psychedelis are useful for physical symptoms of illnesses and also treating certain illnesses..just look at all the people to claim to have cancer and aids etc cured through the use of ayahuasca..of course some of this is probly the synergy between the diets and the ayahuasca..

Look at LSD and migraines..I also know an older lady who started using a full dose of LSD once a week for intense back pain and arthritic pain in her body and claimed as long as she dosed once a week it helped incredibly..and she wasnt really into these thing before it seemed until she took LSD with 2 other friends of mine one day..

That being said..I have really fucked my back, kness and ankles up after 13 years of obcessivly skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing and skimboarding..and in the last year that has only gotten better and better due to cutting all sorts of things out of my diet and eating as close to the way thigns are in nature as possible..food really is medicine and the body needs the best food possible to repair itself..my back used to hurt all the time, my knees began to buckle at times, and i busted both ankles more than once, but since I started eating really strictly my ankles and knees feel way way stronger and my back doesnt bother me too much anymore unless I sit for long periods hunched over my computer..

Every time i've taken mushrooms i've become more flexible & supple, on LSD i had cev's of shadow like images of people morhping through hundreds of yoga positions, also right after the DMT peak i feel like i've done a session of very intense yoga. Yoga is often seen as a purifying sadhana.

Can you heal your back through psychedelics?

You could become aware of underlying things that are causing or have caused the pain, then end those cycles.
 
I believe they can be physically healing, absolutely. Of course, like any healing, the individual needs to have the right attitude and preparation for any good work to be done. Mesc I believe is especially physical. Stretching with cactus in mind is amazing, and remembering the stretches discovered during the experience and practicing them regularly is an excellent way to carry the lessons back into everyday living.
 
I was just waiting til I had all the materials, and I was going to ask the same. Know someone who has had back pain for 10 years. Everyone says they need an MRI. The list of things we've narrowed it to have no real documented history and no known cure, see also FMS or MS. I don't see how knowing EXACTLY what it is is going to help if EXACTLY what it feels like, has no real cure other than hormones, pain killers, and diet.

After my first ayahuasca session, I definitely felt more limber, more free, more physically alive. Ready. Buoyant. I could only think of how much it would help people with joint/tendon pain.

I'm disgusted how so many people in the medical field want to rely on engineering instead of knowledge. There are so few 'real' doctors left it seems. In and out, appointment, medication, NEXT. I am aware that XRAY imaging, along with MRIs are a great tool and aid to the field, but they seem very relied upon to me now. Gone the body doctors who can talk to you, work with your body, and have a very thorough idea of the problem.

Anyway. Thank you fractal for confirming what I thought of diet, very very important in regard to physical able-ness. I think between diet, aromatherapy/massage, and some ayahuasca sessions, we will see positive results soon. We just hope the results are strongly positive, as the pain has been debilitating at times.
 
That is reiki your talking about my friend, its like laying on of hands and such and yes you can do it on yourself. I find you heal your spiritual self, the mental,and physical follows. Its like dreaming, what you do in Reiki is dream healing sorta thing.

Glorified placebo...reiki is rubbish.

AIDS cured by ayahuasca? I think those claims are lies. Also cancer can spontaneously go into remission I am doubtful ayahuasca can cure cancer. No one has conducted a proper trial on this subject. Claiming that such substances can heal these conditions without proof is highly unethical.

But yes psychedelics can heal certain physical complaints. This is no surprise really. You are a physical organisms with a physical brain and a mind generated by physical processes all of which are highly intertwined.
 
I think that as far as one is convinced spirituality can heal him, he will be healed. The mind is much more powerful than any drug/remedy out there.
 
^^No offense but your mind isn't going to stop tumors from growing or AIDs virus from killing your immune cells. It doesn't work that way. People who claim it does are really sick in the head. They completely manipulate very sick people. The worst thing you can do for a terminally ill person is blame them for their disease because they didn't "think positive" enough.
 
But then what can you say about placebo effects, and stress related illness etc running down the immune system?

I personally think that treatments that are to the exclusion of one area, like focussing on mental aspects without a physical side like diet, excercise etc, or only focussing on the physical without looking at the mental state of the person are lacking..the best approach seems to be wholistic..since we are complex beings with a ver sophisticated set of dynamics at play of which regulated homeostasis...

If you are constantly blowing out your transmission in your car, or destroying your clutch etc..is the problem ever really due to only the transmission or the clutch..or the way the car is driven?

If the clutch gets destroyed then changing your attitude towards it won't fix it, will it?

I never managed to fix a broken plate by being less careless at handling them.

Totally agree. Positive thinking by itself will only get you so far. And the placebo effect is prime example of what the mind thinks the body does. I remember giving a buddy some aspirin at a concert and told him it was LSD, well after an hour he was tripping(or so he said). Until of course we all started laughing told him what was up and then he came down.

I would suggest yoga exercises(psychedelic included), as this really helped my back pains. I would get piercing pains like someone was stabbing me, sometime dropping me to the ground. I haven't even kept up with regular practice, but still have no back pain since my daily yoga exercises.

I also try to keep a strong and healthy mentality, and rarely get sick. But when I do I can definetly attribute it to not keeping this state of mind. And I can usually combat a sickly feeling by convincing myself I can overcome it. Still when you get a bad bug no amount of positive thinking can keep you totally healthy.

Or if there is something seriously wrong with your back, something that required surgery, I doubt any type of positive thinking alone could cure this. But keeping a positive mind threw-out your healing process will only help to speed and aid in recovery.

Well thats not my point at all..people destroy clutches alot of the time becasue they suck at driving stick and are too hard on them...and being careful in the future you would think would help one break less plates..

I believe that when you start heeling your self mentally your body will follow suit. In any case ayahuasca shaman have been heeling both the body and the mind with this stuff for a long time.
